Let's assume the MCLA championships return to PHP in Frisco next year (which is still to be decided).....
Would you be willing to pay a nominal amount (say maybe $10 - $15 a game) for a live TV webcast of the semis and finals in the main stadium?
(Think GT Coach Ken Lovic and my audio radio commentary over live TV coverage using the multiple TV angles available inside PHP stadium).

For a host of reasons, many people cannot make it to Dallas to see the tourney. This would be a great alternative.

Would require a fair amount of advertising - which I guess could be provided by collegelax.us
I would definitely - pay-per-view?

As long as it's here in North Texas I'm going but if it's moved I would pay to watch to watch it online.

I would definitely pay to watch. I am curious though Sonny, is the MCLA trying to move towards a more independent production as far as TV goes? I don't know anything about CSTV's involvement in years past other than watching highlight show or the games, but is the MCLA still going to push for National TV coverage (possibly even live) of this event in the future?

I don't speak for the MCLA Exec Board... but unless ESPN, ESPNU, Fox Sports, CSTV want to televise the game live, that is the direction this is all heading. Control your own production (if you can afford it) and you can control how/when the product is distributed.
Getting the game on CSTV is nice, but it obviously loses some of it's appeal if it is only broadcast on a tape delay basis (3+ weeks or more after the game is played live).
Also remember, most likely a sports channel would only want one (final, championship) game. Our tournament has tons of games including the exciting semifinals, Div. B final, quarterfinals possibly, etc.
Unless ESPNU or CSTV wants to do the game live, I say we do live video web casts of selected tournament games. The technology is there, especially if we are in a pro stadium like PHP again next year. There are some bandwidth/hosting charges to consider - hence this poll.

For what it's worth, we got a lot of feedback from people all around the country seeing our game on delay last year on CSTV. I think it was great exposure for our league, even if it was not televised live.
Always on point . . .
