MSHSL Section Tournaments

Postby horn17 on Sat May 19, 2007 12:19 pm

very similar to another game not to long ago hey champer......I call it "the Championship Special"

BSM v. Eastview

Ep v. Osseo

Tim, I dont have times, but Im sure they'll be posted...

On a side note-

2 former MCLA players coaching their teams to the final four, and Mr. Nelson a MN bread coach.....and then Mr. Ward, looks like the article earlier this year missed the boat.....

MSHSL State Tournament Games

Semifinal games on Thursday, May 24 at Wayzata High School

6:00 pm #1 Benilde-St. Margaret's vs #4 Eastview
8:00 pm #2 Eden Prairie vs #3 Osseo/Park Center

Game times for Friday, May 25 at Wayzata High School

6:00 pm Third Place Game

The bracket is posted at http://www.mshsl.org/mshsl/showbrackets.asp?tournid=2440

Also, I think the MSHSL has something going with Pointstreak for statistics. There is a page set up at http://www.pointstreak.com/prostats/scoreboard.html?leagueid=471&seasonid=1939&date=05/24/07

They give a 6 day wait from quarters to semi's, then have the championship the next day?

Goal scored by Number 27(or29 depends on season) Johnny Ericksen!

If UMD got it...Goal scored by Champ.

DI does Saturday-Monday.

And it's a day rest over a weekend day, this would be with classes.

Two reasons for the long break for the MSHSL teams:

a) The boys and girls were basically on the same calendar this year and the girls' championship was Monday and Tuesday and they did not want the boys playing at the same time.

b) After the section championships, the MSHSL re-seeds the section winners for the state tournament so they need a little time between the section finals and the first state tournament games.

That is my understanding anyway...

on my way to work i saw a new field that would be perfect for next years state championship. From 394 i noticed that they are installing a new sprin turf field next to parade ice arena and the sculpture gardens. I played baseball there a few times and it was soo cool with the basilica and skyline in back. ...just a random thought
