Natural Bowl- Check
8,000 seat- check (but can handle 18,000+ with standing room, the best part is that number has been reached in the past)
Luxury Boxes- check
Press Boxes- check
Sweet Logo- Check
Indoor facility next to it- Check
Nothing but pine forest, lakes and blue skies around you- Check
SI's "top ten place to watch a college football game (im sure they meant to put lacrosse game)"- Check
Football lines and a track- are there but thats only strike one

We practice on it, but games have been a different story though. This year will hopefully be different, we are crossing our fingers and praying. If you can't tell i kind of like it stadium.

Pinball,
Too bad you couldn't use Photoshop to remove the football players and replace them with lax players in front of all those fans. Sweet! That's what the it looked like for Mich - Mich State last year, although with Maize, Blue and Green rather than Johnnie's Red. Your football coach is truly a legend and national treasure.

Best place in my career

Postby champlaxer on Mon Mar 07, 2005 11:41 am

the best place in all my years of playing was Disney World's Wide World of Sports complex where the Atlanta Braves do all their spring training. This venue is amazing and the grass fields are nothing you've ever seen before. It is cut as even as carpet, but as cushiony and cleat friendly as regular beautiful green grass. #1 Spring break venue I would say if your looking for the best fields.
I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious.

For the person that suggested playing at Clark Stadium in Plain-O, I would have to suggest that is a terrible place to play. I have watched too many football games there, and I hate it. I would much rather play on grass, and would have to suggest the stadium formerly known as The Boneyard (Wildcat-Ram). Until they put turf in at Ford Stadium on the SMU campus would have been my ideal place to play. I know the St. Olaf team used to want to play on Mellby Field on our campus. Manitou would not be a terrible place to play. Going with most people I would prefer a stadium packed and fully enclosed with a natural grass field.

I can't help if you lost many football games there.

I put it on there for me as I grew up going to that place every other Friday during the fall since 1st grade to watch football games. Would have loved to play lacrosse there. I was able to play there a couple times in middle school during my "B" Team starting quarterback "glory days" during middle school.

Actually I went to LH so we had some great games there. We do hold the record for continuous victories against Plain-O. We also played well against PESH for years. Clark has some great features. I love the stands and the field probably fits in better at that stadium then at most stadiums. The locker rooms are not great, but they certainly are better than the old storage sheds Wildcat-Ram used to use. The problem is that it has a tendency to be a little dark. In the old 9-5A Clark stadium was one of the darkest stadiums. I know through photography issues. I also do not like the open end on one side. I also love playing on natural surfaces. The turf at Clark used to be terrible. In a storm though there were not many better places to play sports. Clark was great for getting water off a field in a hurry. I have heard from one of my friends that PESH has a new stadium that is really nice. I have not seen it.

The story goes that the team was kicked off of Kyle Field after using duct tape to line the field for games. In that hot Texas weather, the tape melted and almost ruined the astroturf.

This was back in the early 90's, before my time. They weren't too bright back then, obviously.

PESH doesn't have a new stadium, it's a new stadium for all of PISD. Since Plano West opened up, it was hard for all three to share Clark so they built a new thing way out by Parker (East of Plano). That way, two teams in Plano can have home games on a Friday rather then moving one to Thursday or Saturday. I think it's called Tom Kimbrough Stadium after the old Plano coach and AD of Plano. Drove by it once and it is nice.

I just saw pictures of this, but two of my old teammates went on a road trip after nationals last year and have some pictures of them throwing around at the Field of Dreams in Iowa... pretty cool, and it looks just like the movie.

When I get home, I will put up some pictures of it. It's like an hour and a half drive from Iowa City in Dyersville, Iowa. Still in tact although 2 different people own it. Left field is owned by one dude who sold it to some company who refused to give any of it up. He has his own gift shop and a corn maze. Centerfield/3rd base to the right is owned by some family that let the movie company use it. That side has the famous bleachers which still have the carving from the movie in it. Also have their own gift shop. You can run the bases, throw around and even taken some swings. Went with my parents after my freshmen year, took some pics, even the corny (no pun intended) shot of walking out of the corn. I always wanted to take a team shot out there and make some poster with our schedule but no one like the idea other then me.

Here are the pics from Field of Dreams:

And the stupid picture my dad wanted to take of him and I. The corn is so high compared to the movie, they had to make a stand in the movie for the people to walk on so the corn only went up so high as I guessed it rained more then usual before the taping out there. Their is your useless trivia for the day.

here's their picture. I can see what the big objection would be from your team - you don't wanna go and make your lacrosse team look bad by associating it with baseball for an entire season :)

True, but would be funny/stupid picture of the team walking out of the corn with some cheesy title. We go to school in Iowa......might as well make fun of the stereotypes. It is really nice out there though.
