Animal control officer confident Vick was at fights

ESPN.com news services

Updated: May 16, 2007, 8:46 AM ET

Michael Vick has said that he was rarely at the Virginia house he owned where officials have found evidence of dog fighting and that he never took part in the practice. Investigators don't agree.

Kathy Strouse, the animal control coordinator for the City of Chesapeake in Virginia which is investigating the case at the Smithfield home, told Yahoo.com on Tuesday she has spoken with individuals who can "put Vick on that property" during matches.

This whole story would be even more interesting if Vick was winning football games.

I have heard...

They have found documents and text messages pointing to an Ookie that run this thing or at least took a big part, and apparently have people that will testify that Vick is code name ookie. I am sure they had plenty of evidence before indighting a person that has plenty of dinero to fight this, as well as having just watched the Nifong debaucle. I guarantee they crossed their t's and dotted their i's.

This has nothing to do with race, it has all to do with disgusting actions. Executing dogs, by slamming their heads on the ground, electrocution etc... Disgusting and inhumane. If it all pans out to be true,

You are correct......3 poeple have flipped and will be testifying against Vick. There are 65 million dogs in houses in the US. Public outrage is going to get even bigger as this story progresses. One of the Falcons servers crashed today from the SPCA's on line petition.

As a dog lover I think this is terrible and whoever is guilty should pay.

But, as a M.Vick/Falcons fan I say until proven guilty:

Shouldn't the NFL suspend Vick? I mean seriously, he is being indicted on some serious charges, Gooddell (sp?) suspended 'Pac-Man' Jones for an entire season, and he was never even charged with anything!

Jones has a significantly larger body of work regarding trouble with the law.

The Vick family is no slouch in this department, though.

Um, no. He should not be suspended. Where have you been the last 1 1/2 years? Remember the last time a group of individuals had their academic, personal and athletic lives ruined? He may be guilty as sin, but it needs to be proven. The commish is not an idiot and will not risk suspending a player who has no prior convictions/arrests/etc.

Didn't seem to bother the commish with PacMan? "You have been charged and you have a pretty bad history so we are guessing you are guilty and going to suspend you"

I agree that nothing should be done until he (MV) has his day in court, but that being said, it is not looking good for him.

From what i understand he bought an active pit bull farm/fighting ground and constructed the house on the property. Hard to say that he didn't know what was going on over there.

Rumors swirling that the other famous guy from Newport News also has a big hand in dogfighting and is going to get hit in the near future.
