And so the madness has begun........

The 2013 tournament returns to Greenville, SC this May.

No, they are not overrated every year. They might have been a little over rated this year, but in the past, they have had very solid squads. They have had trouble getting over the hump in the toruney in the past, but that doesn't make them over rated. The closest that they came was in 2005, they got within one goal of the final, losing in a heartbreaker to eventual champion UCSB by 1 goal, 4-3. The year before that, they had CSU on the ropes late in the 4th period before losing.

Anyway, my point is that don't equate non-success at the tourney with being overrated. It's not the same thing.

CSU is loving that penalty box. They have as many penalties right now as goals (5). UF was a 2nd half team this year...not that im saying they'll come back...but just food for thought.

Anyway, my point is that don't equate non-success at the tourney with being overrated. It's not the same thing.

So then what is overrated defined as if it's not a team that didn't make it as far as they were expected?

Catlax Man, ahhhh it pains me, but I have to disagree with you my friend.

Although Michigan has not won it all and not had a "great" deal of success, they have in the past several years had a good level of success at the tournament and validated their worth as a national program. As sohotrightnow stated, only a handful of programs have made it to the final four. I do not think it is fair to say that they have had non-success.

Because I do think that non-success at the tourney is directly correlated to being overrated. Their past success should have garnished them a high ranking, but after today, maybe not as high...

Again, I think we should be talking about how well Northeastern played today.

UMD had better win with that #6 ranking.....cause that will equate to non-success and being overrated. And an #8 v. #9 should be a toss up game....not yet, as I said we'll see.........

dtrain,

Did you see Northeastern today? What did they do so well?

Odds are, they're going to match up against UCSB...

Just tryin to get a feel since I know nothing bout NE.

It pains me to disagree with you too, Dtrain, but I think UMD's defense will shut down Sonoma today.

I conceded that Michigan may have been overrated this year, but I don't agree with the statement that they are overrated every year.

For future reference Northeastern University is abbreviated NU

And a pat on the back to whomever gave them that first place vote a couple weeks back. Not saying they are #1 in the nation, but I was ok with it then, and even more with it now.

Catlax Man, how can you say such a thing? Sonoma's entire team rosters is on some part of our league All-Star team remember? Gosh, they should be the #1 team every year....

Whoops, I can't say that anymore. I promised to squash the beef with them. Does your hatred for our friends up north run that deep.....my how Bluevelvet is looking down upon you smiling. Noma had damn sure better win today though. I will be hugely rooting for them.

With regards to Michigan, I think we are saying the absolute same thing, "Saint Diego...well, we'll agree to disagree then"

I can say that because I've seen both teams play this year. It has nothing to do with any ax to grind against Sonoma....I'd like to see them win. However, UMD has the best goalie in the country, IMHO, and they play very tough defense. On the other hand, defense appeared to be lacking on Sonoma's part in the WCLL playoffs, and if that trend continues, it will cost them in the tourney. As we all know, defense wins at the National Tourney.

That's almost Plonkey-esque? CSU has amassed 10 penalties in 3 1/2 quarters of play.

That's Ram championship lacrosse.

Take it easy on Plonkey, he is a changed man that is getting married to a good woman in a couple of months.....poor bastard.

Seems like that game is either getting overly ref'ed or is starting to get a bit chippy

UMD held BYU to 1 or 2 ALL EVEN goals, rest were on fast breaks or man ups. They are VERY solid.

I am really pumped for this game, excited to hear the radio broadcast. Hopefully it goes smooth!

I have no easy transition here............hahahahah, Two conference champions up for trouble, two down. UMD and BC are next.
