Drawing OOC interest to the Northeast

Well, one good thing about Trumbull is it is close to New Haven and less than 1.5 hours from NYC. If teams wanted to have a cool destination, NYC is about as good as they come. No surf and sand, but plenty of culture and fun to be had. PCLL teams may be put out about the travel,

I think this would be a great selling point. Also, with enough time to plan, possible sponership could help with the cost. And if PCLL teams have an issue with traveling down 3.5 (furthest PCLL team) hours to CT to get 3 games in, then they should just stay where they are and hope people come to them.

Good points. One note on the sponsors, though, is that we need teams to start using the sponsors or we're not going to have any sponsors.

Well, we will be on our way to see you guys next weekend. When deciding upon where to travel for our spring break, which is usually about this time (Easter-being a Jesuit school, and all), the kids decide where to go. Two years ago, we went to GA. because we had an alum down there who made it worth our while to play there.

This year, the kids wanted to see Boston. So that combined with some increased interest in Santa Clara from Northeast HS players, we are on our way. I have my heavy coat and thermals packed; not sure if the kids are that prepared.

By the way, Thanks again to Dan, Tim and Ryan who have been working their tails off to make sure we have fields to play on. Believe me, the rain is no picnic either and we had plenty of that out here this winter.

Indoor Tournaments are in our future but probably far down the road. There is so much demand for our current indoor facility that it isnt plausible right now. But by 2006 we will have two additional indoor facilities: http://www.uconnhuskies.com/AllStories/ ... 50120.html
with at least one of these being fully accesible by club teams. Currently we get our turf plowed so we could hold games early in the year but the temps are rough for night games before mid march.
