Not fully, he was adopted by Combs and Chuck Norris, but they instilled everything they knew in him.

From the CCLA I'd watch Kauffman (Goalie) Kohlitz (FOGO) and Blechman (Att) from Michigan. Can't count out Hammit and Morales either.

Blechman could be one of the most improved players (from last year) I have seen in a long time.

Does anyone know if Scott Miller was a freshman and the same guy who faced off for Oregon in 2004 at nationals (first round oregon won 14-10)? If this was the case then Justin Ashenfelter, the All American face off man from BC, was a freshman at the time and I watched them face off a number of times. Ashenfelter virtually dominated every team in face offs that BC played that entire season and continued to dominate the first half against Oregon (winning something like 7 of 9) but ran into some trouble in the second half as Oregon's face off man made some adjustments and began to win the battles (he probably won about 60%+ in the second half). It was pretty impressive to watch those two go at it. If it was Miller, I hope those two get to go head to head again because it sounds like Miller has been winning the face offs in all his games and I know Ashenfelter has been destroying his opponents. The last time they went head to head I would call it a draw with Ashenfelter winning the first half and Oregon's guy winning the second half. It would be fun to watch a few years later.

I'd say without a doubt Brekhan Kohlitz is a player to watch. MSU's faceoff guy was 60% on the year but won only 9 of 30 faceoffs he took against UM this year (most of them where Kohlitz).

Yeah, Turtle was a freshman in 04, and he took the majority of our face-offs.

I think Emory's defense and Fort Lewis' attack will be a good matchup to watch.

The Westfall brothers and Eric Nelson from ASU always put up big numbers and are fun to watch. Should be a great game.

Ben Clark wrote:Hey guys, I just thought it would be nice to get a list going of players to watch in Texas. Not only the scorers, but also the hard-nosed middies, and hard-hitting defensemen.

One of my favorite players at last year's tournament was Tyler Monteath of BYU. This year, of the teams I've seen, I'm looking forward to watching the following players:

Craig Sini - Goaltender, Northeastern
Chris Cook - Attack, Northeastern
T.R. Hoffman - Goaltender, BC
Justin Ashenfelter - FOGO, BC
Austin Gardner-Smith - Attack, BC
Brian Kinsella - Attack, BC

Give me some other names to watch out for in Texs.

Definitely some big guns representing the PCLL. But I think BC defensemen Chris Ward and Patrick O'Brien should be high up on the list. They're both big, strong defensemen with great stick skills. Combined with their athletic midfield units plus Austin Gardner-Smith at attack, look for BC to pull out a few wins.
