Since the tournament announcement on Sunday night, Calvin has declined their at-large bid to the Div. B National Championship Tournament.
Southwestern from the Lone Star Alliance will take their spot as the 11th seed. (Both Southwestern and Calvin were ranked higher then UC-Irvine). SU will play Northern Colorado in the 6 vs. 11 game on Tuesday.
Thanks to Coach Bill Bowman and the Pirates for stepping up to the plate at short notice.

It came down to not being able to bring enough players to compete. I had spoken to Coach Bowman of Southwestern and felt that they were in a better condition to fill the spot. I feel horrible about this and wish Southwestern the best.

I think it should. If it happened to the salem state last year, i think that the only fair way to do it is to sanction calvin this year.
Its unfortunate, but the CCLA is on the rise apparently, so i have no doubt that at least 1 CCLA B team will make it next year

Wasn't Salem St. the AQ? From what I'm reading, this is an at-large bid that they are turning down.

that's the breaks....you might be fortunate in the fact that calvin was an at large and not an AQ, so they didn't have enough time to prepare, but that wish could or could not get granted
I know if i were in the Pioneer league, and the CCLA-B didnt lose their AQ, i would be uber pissed

I would understand that CCLA would lose their AQ if calvin had won the tourney. But since they lost to Dayton and then got a bid i do not think this should penalize the whole conference. Now maybe a 1 year suspension for calvin would be a good penalty.
That sucks they could not get players to go but really who wouldnt want to go to nationals? Sounds iffy to me because it would be any kids dream.

Well not every kid (college for that matter) has the money to go to Dallas. It would be nice for all teams in the MCLA to have the money handy but the sad fact of the matter is that not all do, and not all schools support their club lacrosse teams enough to shell out that kind of cash.

The only way the CCLA-B will lost their AQ bid is if Calvin wins. Salem state won their conference, and the were not allowed to compete this year. That is how it goes.
