2007 Division A Tournament Field is announced!

I think the michigan side is interesting.....seems to be a lot of unknowns who can make some noise...

i really feel like any team can win any game. looking at the strife this year, you can really see that the parity in the MCLA is high and it should make for an incredible tournament. with that said, i would look for some pretty exciting games and some huge upsets even in round one

Is it just me or is the right side of the bracket much more challenging to get to the final? I see 4-5 teams that could be in the final and I wouldnt be surprized one bit.

My dad was talking to me about the weather. He was shocked that lightning had put a hole in a runway at DFW. They have been having tornados and all sorts of nasty storms this year, but the temps have been cooler so take that global warming conspirarists. If it gets hot then I think A&M and the SELC schools can make some noise. That nasty Texas heat just seems to wear on a lot of people who are not used to it. My friends from Arizona hate it.

Global warming doesn't mean it is just getting hotter. It produces erratic weather patterns that lead to increasingly severe storms and conditions. Like those you mention above.

Problem #1
Michigan #4-
What has Michigan done to deserve this high of a ranking?
There only good wins would be over #14 and #15 in the tournament. I see this as an insult to UCSB and Colorado, who both beat top 5 teams yet were penalized for playing a tough schedule.
UCSB and CU both beat ASU, CU on the road, who Michigan lost to at home, #4 come on please number 7 at best.

I think that these teams would be interchangeable at #4 and #5 but since UCSB won head to head I would go #4 UCSB and #5 Colorado.

These are things that I believe were incorrectly address with the final poll, in my opinion.

On the other side... Michigan and UCSB both won their respective conferences (not to mention #3 Oregon and #6 UMD) and CU didn't - CU didn't even make the finals. Michigan was steady all season with no bad losses to teams outside the top 10 (granted they didn't beat anyone inside the top 10 either, but they did beat a decent NCAA team in Kenyon) and UCSB has the losses to Utah and Chapman. Colorado has the loss to Texas A&M. CU is ranked higher than 2 conference winners not to mention the runner up in the WCLL. One could even argue that Arizona and BC should be ranked higher than CU... BC won their conference and Arizona was the runner up in the WCLL Finals.

If you are going to drop Michigan then you need to drop UMD too who'd they beat? Just because they played the top two teams in the nation to 1 goal games doesn't make them #6. Now CU is #5...

Look... there's a case to be made for every team to be ranked higher or lower and CU got a very generous spot in my opinion. Maybe in the voters eyes CU didn't do enough to warrant receiving more votes than teams like Michigan and UMD who beat nobody in the top 10.

Don't get too upset about those Wolverines. Michigan losing in the quarterfinals is like Turtle winning face-offs: It's automatic. Ironically, the only quaterfinal win they have since 2000 is against the Ducks in '05.

The only year they advanced to the Semifinals was an incomplete year, as Colorado State was out of the tournament due to a ineligable player. So in my mind Michigan still has a lot to prove.

My top 16:

1. BYU- No brainier
2. Colorado State- Came back in RMLC championship game to make it a game
3. Oregon- Great wins, they were just awhile ago
4. UCSB- Always turn it on at the end of the year, Wins over elite WCLL and Colorado
5. Colorado- Wins over elite WCLL and Oregon
6. Minnesota-Duluth- won every game they were supposed to and kept it close with #1 and #2
7. Arizona- WCLL finalist, big win over ASU
8. Michigan- Lots to ASU hurts, not big win
9. BC- two good wins over Northeastern, PCLL Champs
10. ASU- great wins, but gone cold in last 4 games
11. Sonoma State- No big wins, but no bad losses
12. Northeastern- Win over Arizona, only two losses to BC
13. Georgia- SELC Champs
14. Florida- SELC runners up, big wins over other bubble teams
15. Lindenwood- no big wins and no conference, GRLC champs
16. Texas A&M- big win over CU, but that was Feb, LSA Champs

I think that this poll is personally along the lines of what others have been thinking and posting. IMO
