wow GVSU beats CMU and they are still higher? Augustana must still get some love from making the tourney last year to be ahead of GVSU IMHO. Hope Dayton can bring some long deserved respect to the CCLA B

Just wondering...

How did UNC jump that many spots with a demanding loss to Westminster? Emory and HU both had solid wins against ranked teams in their championship. Why does UNC get so much love?

RMLC bias.....seems to be the only reason i can think of. Granted they played a tough schedule, but i would like to have someone from UNC to justify that ranking

Someone from UNC doesn't have to justify the ranking, they didn't create it. The voters did. Off the top of my head, I'll suggest that UNC beat a top 10 team in their playoffs, before losing to the number 2 team. It's just a guess, actually I wouldn't even know where they finished without going to look right now which I don't plan on doing. I do remember the game was 19-13, a six goal loss in what was predominantly a close game. Before you throw stones at UNC for losing to a team still receiving #1 votes, I'd remind you the only unblemished teams are Dayton & SJU. Harding lost to UST by 7 & I don't hear anyone saying anything about how highly their ranked.

I've had Dayton up & down in my poll the last 2 years, & I was never quite sure where to have them. It seems as though they're playing their best lacrosse now, which will be great for Dallas. They truly do appear to be able to gun with teams like SJU.

I've got to get going, but the field is set, there are some interesting match-ups & I'm excited to see these games. Good luck to all preparing for the trip.

Maybe its the fact that they went to the championship game in a conference that is the deepest and most talented in the country. our loses came to teams that the voters determined were deserving of a first round by, those are two pretty good reasons to me.

unc's legit. we had our hands full for the majority of this weekend's game. i'm still trying to get a feel for the talent level in the b division, but unc has some players.

good luck to all.

i can't wait for some nice weather.

a couple miles up the road from me just got 13 inches of pow pow.

well 6 of the 12 teams in the CCLA B were in the top 25 at one point almost all at the same time. Ferris State, Northern Michigan, Calvin, CMU, Dayton and GVSU. Sounds pretty competitive to me.

I have never seen a div B team like Dayton, they are the fastest most complete team i have ever seen. I was doubting them until our game when they dominated all aspects of the game. Good luck dayton at the tourney.

If you look at the poll, those 6 CCLA B are all still receiving votes too...
Laxpower has all 6 in the top 20!

The CCLA is very underrepresented in the polls and among the voters. However, it is our responsibility to play a larger OOC schedule to prove our worth and get the recognition we deserve.

Good luck to Vinnie Lang and Andy Sharp as they guide Dayton and Calvin to wins in the tourney!

That may be the case. . .and we'll have a better idea after Nationals. . .

However, it is our responsibility to play a larger OOC schedule to prove our worth and get the recognition we deserve.

But that is the key there Ryan, you are exactly right. It is virtually impossible for anyone to know how truly good the CCLA is when only Calvin is committed to playing a National schedule.

Dayton has every opportunity now to silence the doubters about how good they are, and if they fare well it will bring more love in the way of the CCLA. . .

But honestly, the top teams in each conference need to commit to play OOC games. . .not only will it make the team better by forcing them to raise their game against better competition, but it will also allow voters to better compare the conferences.

Good luck to Dayton at the National tournament.

Carnegie mellon traveled out to play Augustana, Southwestern, and St. Johns this year

Given the preseason polls, that should have been a pretty decent road trip
