Those are some sweet match-ups, especially in the middle region, can't wait to see them.

Wow, those matchups could get interesting.
1. BYU v 16. TAMU
Gotta pick BYU here no questions.
2. CSU v 15. Florida
Gotta pick CSU here but florida could make some noise.
8. Arizona v. 9. ASU
Zona won the first matchup and has played well of late so like them.\
7. UMD v. 10. BC
This is my favorite matchup of the first round. I dont know who to pick. Both BC and UMD come from lesser conferences and both have won or lost close games to top competition.
4. Michigan v. 13. Northeastern
Another one of my favorites. NU is a solid team who handily beat arizona. Many posters have been saying Mich is overrated.
3. Oregon v. 14. Lindenwood
I like oregon here. They have played a lot of tough teams.
5. UCSB v. 12. Georgia
UCSB has been rolling lately but Georgia has also made noise. I like UCSB.
6. Colorado v. 11. Sonoma
Another GREAT match up. Sonoma cannot be overlooked by CU

It would be diappointing if UMD and BC had to play eachother in the first round. Im sure both teams would like a crack at the WCLL and RMCL teams in an effort to disprove the theory that the teams from lesser conferences can't hack it in the playoffs.

Be careful what you ask for...you just might get it.
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

It's cool cause right now the actual Top 16 make it to the tourney, that has never happened before.

Why? From what I've seen this year, an upset of this magnitude would not surprise me. Although it's a very tall order, if BYU doesn't show up, A&M might sneak past them. Ask Colorado.

i was at the CU v. A&M game and CU came to play. they had no other excuse they even went on a run in the 3rd and 4th quarters, but they couldnt score. they got beat.

If BYU doesnt match up well with A&M or whoever, it could be a long day for anyone in the tourney. I dont see a clear cut favorite this year.
peace.

Trainer Dan, if you haven't figured it out these two teams WANT a shot at some of the major conference teams. I am not saying they will get it until the second round and I am not saying who will win (the game will decided that) but I don't believe for one second that they are scared or nervous about an WCLL or RMCL team. The teams would rather have that shot and lose then not get the shot at all. They have both played teams from those conferences and faired well this season. You seem to forget that BYU and CSU did not destroy UMD and UCSB did not destroy BC. It didnt happen. With that said, I would like to see UMD and BC square off just to see the winner. I think it would be a GREAT match up. Both teams are semi-unknowns with weaker conference schedules who don't have the oppurtunity to square off against the higher conferences all that much but have done ok when they have had the oppurtunity. It would be a great game.

I agree with OAKS 100%. No team is safe this year as we are slowly moving away from the Top 5 being heads and shoulders better than 6-16.

In regards to the A&M v BYU possible matchup it is indeed intriguing. This is the most talented A&M team depth wise ever in the history of the program. I have seen BYU play on TV and coached against Oregon so I have seen the level of talent in the Top 3 this season. That said, Texas A&M is not as much of a long shot as people would believe in a #1 v #16 matchup. Plus, Tony Scaz and Jason Lamb have matched up at least two previous times if I remember, therefore they are familiar with each other's style.

Should be interesting if it plays out that way.

Not to discredit anything your saying CP18 or to take anything away from Texas A&M but I thought that this year's A&M team was not as good as their team from the 04' season when they had Ryan Dunn and other sick attackman. Thought they were much deeper that year.

I try not to comment on a team unless I have played against them, and my freshmen and senior year we traveled to Texas for Spring Break so I played A&M both years. Again not trying to bash the team, I just wouldn't agree that this was their strongest year in the history of their program.

I concur. I remember they also had a sick team back when they had Pike(?) at attack. I think they gave CSU a run for their money in St. Louis that year. That Texas A&M team was much better.

They came and played us when I was still coaching at BU. Unbelievable ability to score goals. They could turn the game momentum on a dime.

BYU knows only too well what an upset at the Nationals is like. Remember two years ago when Florida State shocked everyone? If I remember correctly they seeded 3rd against FSU as 13th.
