I don't know. Dayton doesn't have any quality wins, besides Carnegie Mellon. UST has beaten harding, calvin, and minnesota. Those seem pretty quality to me, much more than dayton. Just my opinion.

1. SJU
2. Westminster
3. UST
4. Dayton
5. Montana
6. Harding
6. WWU (not sure whos gonna take that spot)
8. FLC
9. Emory
10. UNC
11. Montana St.
12. Calvin

Now with that, there are (i think) 5 at large spots. UST and WWU have AL spots now. FLC, UNC, and montana st. will probably take the others. Therefore, this will be (again, my opinion) the seedings:

1. st. johns
2. westminster
3. st. thomas
4. Dayton
5.Montana
6. Harding
7. WWU
8. FLC
9. Emory
10. UNC
11. Montana St.
12. UC Irvine

How do you put fort ahead of unc ? I guess we will have it all figured out soon enough

Just more reason why Montana should be in the 4 spot, not Dayton. Dayton defeated Carnaghie Melon 12-6. . .their only top-25 win was against the #17 team in the country.

If Dayton gets the #4, we are rewarding a team with a first round bye that frankly hasn't played a difficult enough schedule to earn it. I know Dayton is very, very good. . .but with only one top-25 team on the schedule, they just don't deserve a first round bye when Montana played NINE games against the top 25, and went 7-2 in those games.

Montana's last 5 games. . .

defeated #16 Western Oregon 24-3
defeated #12 Montana State 17-10
defeated #11 Northern Colorado 15-10 (2 hours after beating MSU)
defeated #18 Southern Oregon 13-0 (shut out a top 25 team!!)
defeated #8 Western Washington 8-6 (PNCLL Championship)

How can Dayton be ranked ahead of this team? Or St. Thomas for that matter? Other than maybe Westminster, Montana played the toughest B schedule in the country, and they only lost a couple players from the team that went to the final four last year and hung with USD until the final whistle.

I know I'm being a PNCLL homer, but Montana is being overlooked right now, and it is likely to cost them a 1st round bye they have played well enough to earn.

I had the opportunity to watch both montana and wwu play this weekend and i have to say that they are both very well oiled machines. I was at the nat'l tourney last year and there wasn't one B division team that was nearly as athletic, talented and deep as both of these teams are. They have it all in every position. Mark my words, one of them is going to take it all.

I was in Dallas last year as well, & I do believe either of these teams would have taken it, both are much improved. I do however believe the entire MCLA B has improved greatly as well. With as competitive as the B has been, 1st round match ups are going to be important. I'd almost rather be the number 5 to get the kinks worked out before playing the next round. It doesn't look like anyone is going to be a pushover, but both WWU & Montana looked fantastic on Sunday. Both are loaded with talent & finally benefiting from experienced coaching. As long as both teams make Dallas, I'll be happy enough hoping they get to play folks outside of the RMLC in the first round. I want a little bit more of a conference gauge, hopefully I'll even be able to watch.

division b polls

Let's not give Montana the trophy yet...........

There are 2 losses, midseason, to RMLC B teams, as well as Gonzaga and SF.

IMO, they climbed back into the mix, after getting ontrack. But to put them in the top 4 overshoots.........

Harding has wins over #11 Calvin, #13 Southwestern, #20 Creighton, and #25 Augustana. Two of the games were blow outs. Their only losses coming from #3 UST and ranked Div A Texas.

having watched harding dominate creighton and augustana, I can say with confidence they are ranked where they belong, if not under-ranked at this point

Doesn't putting Dayton in the top-4 with only a win vs. CMU overshoot? The CCLA is obviously better than they are given credit for, so the 9-0 record in that conference is very impressive. . .but I hate to see a team that didn't challenge themselves OOC get rewarded, when you have teams like St. Thomas, St. John's, Westminster and Montana travelling around the country playing ranked teams.

I have no doubts Dayton is good enough to compete with the other top 10 teams in the country. I just wish they would have TRIED to play one.

Not giving Montana anything. . .they are playing great lacrosse right now, and have been ever since the two losses to RMLC B teams. They also just got Jake Bagley back, who was 1st or 2nd team all-american last year and was also on the all-tourney team in Texas last year. A very good team just got better.

I can appreciate your point of view on this. Dayton is somewhat of an enigma, based upon their body of work YTD. The issue is, you have to do 'something' with them, and apparently the ranking reflects giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I also agree that Montana is playing great ball right now. They've had an interesting year, being ranked #1, falling to ( I think ) #11 after a couple of tough losses, and 'clawing' their way back into the mix of late. I do think this shows the character and talent of the team, and I expect them to do very well in Dallas........
