Mid
#22 Paul Bochard / UND

David Rohrbach / Bethel
Att
Trautman / Bethel

solid pic.
i know that it maybe "nice" to spread the love around a little. when it comes to the all conference voting but in all honesty couldnt it be 90% duluth players then 95% UST/SJU players. Those teams just seem to be on a different level the the rest of the league, with truly superior players.
What do you do, the nice thing or the thing that might get the league angry but the best players are chosen?

I think one of the closest races for All Conf may be at the goalie position in Div. B.
I think the best goalie in Div. A is obviously Jake at UMD. There are several good Div. A goalies in the UMLL, but he is hands down the most complete in the division and in the top drawer of the country.
Now, the best goalie in Div. B is a bit more complicated. I've seen most of them (at least the starters) play and some are quite good.
I'll start with Fritzinger from Bethel. He's very talented and one of the most athletic goalies in the league. He made several saves in games I was watching that he had no business making. He can clear the ball and has either great shot tracking ability or has insane reflexes. I would have to chalk up the high GAA to a lack of defensive support.
I've only seen Nelson for SJU, so I can't speak to their remaining crop of goalies. He is another very solid player. He certainly has a lot more support around him then most of his opposing goalies, but he is very talented and works well with a dominant defense. Good reaction time and maybe the best clearing goalie I've viewed in the B division so far. An aspect of the game that should never be overlooked.
Lastly I would point out Hoffman from UST. He's got a great GAA and save percentage. Again, more talent around him than goalies on most of the other UMLL B squads, but the kid is a complete player. Good ability to stop high and low shots from outside and close in. His passing ability is also very good. Regardless of his stats he has all the qualities of a great goalie.
I'll also say that the goalie from MSUM is quite talented. He seems to be able to save change of plane shots well and was pretty good up high as well. I would still say the 3 goalies above are in a class of their own.

i think it will be hard for an SJU goalie because throught the year we have rotated 4 goalies, Nelson, Van Ess, Durbin and Stanton. Maybe they can get a combo prize!

I like the PBR logo on the left arm... glory days..
I could be wrong but I heard PBR gave the team a total of $50 towards their jerseys if they put that logo on the sleave.

Well those are my picks for the year. Great season all in all. There were definiatly some scores of games that I did not predicted would happen. I was also very happy to see that every team that we played this year kept it clean, making each game even more fun. I'm looking forward to next season already. See you all out on the field this summer I hope.
