Playoffs

Postby Gary Robinson on Sun Jan 23, 2005 12:09 am

As far as I know the LSA championship weekend will be held at Trinity. They were the only team to submit a bid last I heard.

The playoffs in the A division this year will feature a quarterfinal round before the final four. The top three teams in each subdivision qualify. The one seeds will get a bye. The 2 seed from the north will play the 3 seed from the south and vice versa.

An all-star committee was formed to help make the whole all-star selection process and the game smoother but I don't know if anything has resulted from that yet...

A&M put in a bid too, but I have not heard anything about the location of the championship weekend yet.

what 3 teams from each sub-division do you think will make the playoffs?
For the south division I think:
1) A+M ...best team in league period
2) Tx St...very athletic, travel well
3) Tulane...most experience and talent, but what team will show up?
4) Houston...could surprise people and move up
5) LSu...they have to do better than last year (0-8
6) Rice...will struggle to win any games

From the south division I see the usual suspects making it to the playoffs A&M and TSU, I even see Tulane getting their act together somewhat (though, they won't win a playoff game.)
The North division I see UT, Tech and Baylor making the playoffs I think Baylor could scare some folks, but I am predicting a repeat of last years final between UT and A&M.
