summer leagues?

Postby souptownlax40 on Sat Feb 03, 2007 8:47 pm

I was wondering if there were any summer leagues available for post high school players other than something like hot dish where you have to play on a college team? I would like a full contact game too because I was able to find a no hitting league but I know myself and a few of my friends that played in high school with me would love to have some good competition.

Empire Lacrosse puts on a really competitive summer league.

Hosted at The Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, MN.

Keep an eye out here on the UMLL forum for info ... should be a popular topic mid to late April.

There are usually 8 to 10 teams and costs like $90 to $100.

As far as summer league goes, I would assume you wouldnt hear anything until after the national championships since Graff runs the league.

Here's the deal.

1. Everything got pushed back a week because MCLA Nationals was pushed back a week.

2. GET YOUR INFORMATION IN NOW> Each MCLA team contact was e-mailed an excel spread sheet to fill out for the team. If you attend or play for an MCLA team in teh UMLL, your team should have already sent itn this form for the team. Inquire of your team leaders if this was done. IF NOT - GET IT IN NOW-

3. Captains are set - we'll have 10 teams.

4. We'll Meet on JUNE 6, 2007 to collect $ and distribute jerseys.

5. FIRST GAME is JUNE 8, 2007. THIS IS A FRIDAY, AND WILL BE THE ONLY FRIDAY GAME. ALL OTHERS ARE WEDNESDAY. No game on the wednesday during July 4th week.

Again -- ALL OTHERS ARE WEDNESDAY

6. If you are on a men's club team, make sure your president has sent your information. I know that Lakers have.

7. If you are not on an MCLA team or men's club team in the Twin Cities send me a PM and I'll give you my e-mail to send your information

The Empire Men's Summer League Draft will be tonight (May30th).

Players who have registered should expect to hear from their captains by Saturday.

We are collecting money and (hopefully) handing out jerseys on Wed June 6th at 7pm at Holy Angels. You need to pay or make payment arrangements to hold your spot.

Players who have not registered can show up on June 6th in the hope of getting assigned to a team as a free agent should spots become available.

The first game will be FRIDAY JUNE 8th. All other games will be Wednesdays (except July 4th) through August 15th.

I thought I had posted this somewhere, but obviously not. Milwaukee has a summer league through Hot4Lax run by Robin Buckley.

You can sign up at http://hot4lax.com

I will most likely be playing as well as some of the guys on my team (Andrew Weber, Kyle Swatowski to name a few).

If you want to play and will be in Milwaukee signup. Hope to see you out on the field.
