My friends in "high places" said Vick was going down soon (last season), I guess this was it.

Dog fighting? You can take the man out of Bad News, but you can't take Bad News outa the man.

I am a Criminal justice major, and i had to sit through a movie on dog fighting for criminology. The types of people that do this are your common criminals and violent offenders. We already know what the lineage of the Vick Dynasty holds. His little brother already ruined his life, now we can watch michael do the same. These people are sick.

Court documents stated that 30 animals were found tethered to heavy logging chains attached to car axles buried in the ground. Equipment used to train fighting dogs was found on the property, including treadmills, chains, whips and injectable drugs.

Seriously Car axels and injectable drugs!?

Dude, they drug the dogs up like you wouldn't believe. They also make treadmills and make the dogs run on them for up to 2 hours at a time. The worst part is that every dog that has ever been in an organized fight cannot be legally put up for adoption, so they must be uthenized. That goes for the 70 found on Vick's property. I hope he burns in hell.

Looks like Joey Harrington is the starter now, what a great time to toss out Matt Schaub. Maybe the Falcons trade up and get a QB...interesting for the draft day...

As for the dog fighting, he's innocent till proven guilty (cough Duke cough). And from the current Atlanta case about the cops shooting the 92 year old woman proves...DONT BELIEVE THE PAPERS...believe the courts. If he is guilty though...what a horrible horrible thing for those dogs. And the kids in America too...that make athletes their role models and then are confused when Ricky Williams quits to smoke the ganj, or (insert anything from the Cinnci Bengals here).

I'm sorry, but you can't have 70 dogs in a house and then claim you didn't know they were there, much less the were there for fighting. They also found tools used to train them, like the tredmill of what I spoke for. Theres no way he didn't know.

before this gets out of hand let us all remember something...like the way how everyone said the duke kids were guilty without knowing the real story. These famous athletes, especially african american ones from lower class areas, (that is not a racist comment) have family members and friends live in their houses and use them for their money. a lot of the time these athletes buy houses for family members, and the article said mike vick does not even live in that house. ESPN did a piece about a year ago i remember that interviewed famous athletes about family and friends using them for money, houses, cars, etc and a lot of the times problems that those people cause come back to haunt the athlete that gave them the house, car, etc. now i believe he probably knew something about this, maybe he was even involved, BUT we do not know. i think since all of us are in the lax world and were effected someway some how by the duke fiasco, we should all be a little sensitive on this subject. with that said, his cousin who was living there should be prosecuted to the fullest. im not some PETA hippie animal loving freak, but this stuff is sick and is morally wrong.

Let's get some of the legal types in on this but if your name is on the deed you have to be responsible for what happens in the house, right?

This story makes me sick and it further sickens me that people in our society would find something as abhorrent as dog fights to be entertaining. Where do these people get the idea that dog fights are cool??? It's not cool in my neighborhood or with my friends.

Couldn't agree more. I would like to train all of the people involved in this ring the same way they trained the dogs and have them duke it out with each other!

What do you guys think UFC and boxing are? I love both of them and I pay to watch it. People in Spain pay to see a bull die.

I understand the training is truely horrible but as long as there are people willing to shell out money to see it.... It won't stop.

If anyone thinks that Vick will be prosecuted, you're crazy. And if he is guilty, he probably has three to four guys already begging him to be a fall guy. Because they know that after that small sentence, Vick will take care of them.

Uhh, athletic competitions between two humans of their own free will while under medical supervision and sanctioning with little chance of death.

Mexican and Spanish bullfights are cruel and sickening as well.

Mike Vick needs to watch some of those old Chappelle show skit about keeping it real going wrong.

now it is... check out some of the early forms of these sports (and for that matter.... look into past civilations i.e. gladiators)

As for free will... animals fight in the wild all the time. We watch it on discovery ... for either food, mating or territory. These dogs are inbreed to the point where their existence is literally based on fighting.

I am not saying I condone it but I am saying that I understand where someone could profit from it.

I also find it funny how the humane society (from an espn article) said.... "how did he not know they were there.... it would cost 100 a day to feed the dogs...." ( I guess he didn't realize they could use the money from the fights to run the operation)
