Apple Valley 6

If AV can start clicking on Offense, they could be tough down the stretch.

As an alumnus and former captain of the math team, thank you for pointing out our dominance in that field. But I would suggest just calling it Mahtomedi. :D

At least Rob was close. How about an east coast lax company sending me 50 sweatshirts with "Mehtamodi Lacrosse" on them?

Blake 16 Minnetonka 12, From what I could see I have to admit that the coaches side line antics took away from a big win.

Here's a small hint - to beat Blake, a team many believe has two of the best offensive players in the state - and that was LAST YEAR's ASSESSMENT (i.e. they ar even better this year) - don't you want to AVOID a run and gun game????

Blake/Tonka

Postby Reilly on Wed May 02, 2007 11:27 am

Tonka had some of the best stickwork I have seen all year. They had some really good possesions and made good decisions both in settled O and transition. They were very athletic and young (only going to get better).

"Coach's Antics" ??????? That is an interesting take....

I am only saying what I saw, there is a professional way of handling a team and the game. You had already won the game so why go after the officials and bombard them with how they made or did not make the calls. I guess I view it as poor sportsmanship.

Sportsmanship

Postby Reilly on Wed May 02, 2007 1:16 pm

I guess I just dont think that officials blatantly taking shots at @ coaches on a public forum is really sportsmanlike or professional either. You dont see coaches come on here critisizing referee's for lack of consistency or looking for calls rather than being above the game, policing it.
The sportsmanship call just seems a little hypocritical. Some mutual respect would be nice.
But, this forum is about HS GAMES AND TEAMS, not coaches or refereeing issues.

Some big games coming up this week/weekend.
Mahtomedi/TG Thursday
Edina/Tonka Saturday
Blake/ Wayzata Friday
EP/ Centenial (they are much improved) Saturday
JEfferson/Kennedy is always interesting.

From Monday...

BSM 4 Osseo 1 - game was called with 18 minutes left to play due to lightning...game was reported as official at that time until a decision was reached on what next to do.....

Game ruled as no contest as conflicts with schedules prior to playoffs...

Best of luck to the Osseo players and coaches the rest of the year...its frustrating on both ends, but both teams handled it well until it was sorted out...
