NHL Playoffs...

Non-lacrosse specific topics.

No one's talking about Jamie McClennan getting suspended 5 games for whacking that Red Wings player in the stomach yesterday? Also, the Flames organization is getting fined $100,000 for how the players were behaving. The 3rd period of that game was, to put it mildly, very aggressive.

No one is talking about Jamie Mclennan because he is a back-up goalie and it doesn't matter anymore because they are out.

That kind of stuff isn't knew to the NHL.

I remember back in the playoffs when Ed Belfour put his stick in between the legs of a Detroit Red Wing player and racked him really hard. Felt bad for the guy.

This is what I understand correctly:

Eastern Conference

New York Rangers vs. Buffalo Sabres
New Jersey Devils vs. Ottawa Senators

Any predictions for the winners above??

Western Conference

Still waiting for the final outcome of the Dallas Stars and the Vancouver Canucks tonight.

If you're like me, and do not get whatever obscure channel airs hockey down here, I'd recommend downloading Sopcast. Just google it and download a client and then check out this website: http://www.myp2p.eu/NHL.htm

From that site, after installing Sopcast just click on any of those links and open with Sopcast and you've got streaming coverage. The best part is, you get Canadian commentary :D

If hockey isn't your thing, through that website and Sopcast you can also get English Premier League games live streaming.

As for tonight... GO NUCKS GO

I would love nothing more than to see the Devils play the Rangers in the Eastern conference finals!

I will third that. And what will be just as great, is that if the Stars win tonight they will face detroit in the Next round. Love to see that matchup.

I dont know about what yall think....

but the officiating in the Stars/Canuks game 7 was absurd.

LET THEM PLAY! Could they have made the game any choppier? And more than half the game was spent with people in the box.

I mean seriously. Although they were pretty consistant, you would think they'd let them play...especially in the playoffs.

Agreed that the refs called too much last night.

Also:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent ... b3964.html

Dave Tippett has saved his job. Marty Turco has forged a reputation. And Mike Modano has silenced his critics.

All that's left is for Dallas to make history.

They'll do it tonight.

Mark it down. It's going to happen.

Well the stars lost...

Won't say it is because of the refs, but 11 penalties in a game 7 is pretty ridiculous, but I guess that is the new NHL.

Great series by Turco

Jumping on the Rangers band wagon for the rest of the playoffs seeing as how they have the other half of the Lunqvist twins playing in goal.

After last night it looks like the Rangers will have their hands full with the Buffalo and the scoring power they have on that roster, Also Miller has been playing well between the pipes.

It is going to be the battle of the Upstate NY vs the Downstate NY albeit the Sabres already defeated the Isles. As a Ranger fan, I am not panicking, but it was fun reading those posts at the New York Rangers bulletin board.
