Yes, Utah did beat Illinois. However Illinois was not ranked at the time of the game, thus they are 2-6 by my Top 25 W/L. I've mentioned it in earlier posts that Top 25 W/L are frozen at the time of the game.

It would make more sense to do the W/L against top 25 dynamicly given that the most recent poll, in theory, is supposed to be the most accurate.

Earlier in the year I did a poll whether the rankings should be adjusted per poll or frozen at the time of the game, and a majority said frozen.

Thought I would throw in strength of schedule from laxpower for people to look at. I know a lot of you don't agree with it, but it has some relevance to voting. Bold are top 25 teams

With all due respect, I'm not sure how that makes any sense. What if team A was ranked #1 in the first week of the season and then team B beat them in the first week and team A went on to lose the rest of their games. Why would it make sense to give team B credit for beating a #1 team when the results of the season clearly show the caliber of team that team A really was?

Laxpower is a nice tool to reference when making your decision for the poll but if your conference isn't good, your strength of schedule won't be very strong....You can only play so many OCC games to make up a difference that the WCLL and RMLC have in conference....i.e having a strong schedule because your conference is competive

playing devil's advocate, if team B beat team A when they were #1 and team A faded to #3 (only loss being to team B), then the only reason team A is not #1 is because team B put them at #3. Should B get credit for beating #1?

If your conference isn't strong, you better beat some tough OCC competition or your record won't look that strong. And I do believe that UMD should make nationals regardless of their SOS or UMLL chamionship performance.

laxpower also includes NCAA games which can skew SOS in either direction because there is no level comparison of MCLA/NCAA teams

Another thing for pollsters to take into consideration is teams that are ranked and will still be playing games after the 4/25 poll comes out. Did I miss anyone?

CCLA: Michigan, Michigan St.
GRLC: Lindenwood, Illinois
LSA: Texas, Texas A&M
PNCLL: Oregon, SFU
PCLL: BC, Northeastern
RMLC: BYU, CSU, CU, Utah
SELC: Finished
UMLL: UMD
WCLL: UCSB, Sonoma, Arizona

And some notables who are borderline top 25:
Texas, UConn, Rhode Island, Cal

Here was the original thread. After you read the hypotheticals presented and other arguments, I'd love to hear your thoughts, and get your vote. I plan on using the comments to re-vamp the weekly updates so that it is as useful as can be.
