I think the 10-8 score of the VA Tech/Chapman game throws somewhat of a question mark out there for people that didn't see the game. If memory serves me right, Chapman is #24 and VA Tech is #10, which would favor a larger point spread.

I think the question is whether Chapman played well, or VA Tech didn't.

Was there anyone at the game that could shed some light on the issue for a curious individual?

I will be able to provide in-game updates today. . . . .at some point. Unfortunately, they were stuck in traffic on the freeway and have not arrived yet as of 1:06.

Actually, at the end of the 1st quarter it was 5-0. UCSB scored early in the 2nd, to make it 6-0.

Right now, UCSB has 3rd line of middies in. FSU defense has allowed UCSB numerous point-blank in the crease shots on goal. Report is that they have some good players, but as a team are not playing well.

So, assuming this score stays the same, does the SELC lose out on two teams to Blaine?

Towards the end of the 2nd quarter:

UCSB - 8

FSU - 2

UCSB scoring has been spread out with almost everyone that has played significant minutes getting a goal. One FSU goal came when a UCSB midddie slipped and it gave the FSU player a point blank look at the goal.

At the half:

UCSB - 8

FSU - 2

FSU defense is athletic but has been caught many times ball watching. SB has taken adavantage a few times with back door cuts that left wide open looks in front of the cage.

Game is being played in the soccer stadium, not the Pit, so the scoreboard and the clock are facing away from the fans. A good crowd is assembling now right in the middle of finals week with a number of alumni showing up. Report is that there is an absence of tortillas, however.
