Both squads had low numbers, but NAU only had 12. They played a great, clean game and it was a pleasure matching up with them.

Tonight, we (Metro) will be facing Ft. Lewis at 7pm to complete our double-header. NAU @ Ft. Lewis tomorrow morning at 11am I believe.

tale of two halves.

uv in the first came with the energy and we decided not to let them take over in the second. our face off guy dominated and that was one reason why we could pull away.

i'm sure everyone remembers the courageous prediction by usukeeper. well he was right about one thing. uv's keeper is good. ours is good too though.

all in all a fun, fierce day of sweet lax.

look for a rematch in the rmlc playoffs.

I left Invesco with under a minute to play...CSU 13-5 over CU. The Rams looked very, very good. It will take a solid effort by someone to beat them in the tourney.

It was a tuff one on top of the bluff at FLC! Final was 14-9 FLC. It was back and fourth in the 1st half with MSCD leading by 3 (?) into halftime but FLC's depth (plus at least 5 man down mins for us) won it out.

It was our most challenging game this year, by far. Looking forward to many more.

Confrimed, 13-5 CSU in a pretty convincing win(not to be biased). This sets the stage for what should be a very interesting league and national tourney.

i was unable to make the game and was just wondering if csu dominated as much as the score would say. was cu flat?

Both teams came out playing pretty well. CU got some good early shots, but hit two poles and ran into a CSU goalie that stopped just about everything that came his way. CSU started inching away and CU just didn't keep pace.

In the fourth the score was 9-1. CU went on a 3-0 run and got a little momentum, but then CSU shut them down again and got a couple of gimmie goals at the end when the CU goalie tried to double. I think maybe the closest CU got was 10-5, but I'm not sure.

CSU looked really good, but CU didn't look that bad either. The CSU goalie played strong in the first half and that just really put CU too far behind. They should both do well at the tourney.

Was at the game as well. CSU looked really good. their D knew everything CU was gunna do and CU's O didnt play well at all. they got in a circle and just passed it around for most of the game. CSU was much more prepared for CU than CU was for CSU, and thats coaching. It was so obvious that the CU coaches were out-coached by the CSU coaches. I felt bad for the CU goalie and CU close D because they were really left out to dry by their short stick D middies and Long poles. it was basically 6 vs 3 for most of the game. CU's close D actually looked good and were responsible for maybe 2 or 3 goals. They play again in Boulder in 2 weeks for the playoffs so we will see if CU will be prepared this time. should be a good one (maybe)

csu sounds to be playing there best lacrosse right now and that has to be a scary thought for the rest of the country

First off, I know this isn't the marquee game of the week by any means, but I'd like to thank the guys at Ft. Lewis for having us down in Durango this weekend. We had a blast and thankfully the weather held off.

Just wanted to note that Metro had a 7-6 lead going into the half, but we let it slip away late in the game. We had a few penalties in the second half that Ft. Lewis capitalized on and after playing earlier in the day, our defense did the best they could on worn legs... especially when trying to kill a 3min non-releasable stick penalty. The performance by our freshman goalie, Zac Steinman (Columbine '06), who wasn't originally going to get the starting nod, kept us in the game. Steiner had nearly 50 saves total in both games played on Saturday while our starter had to watch from the sidelines with a broken thumb suffered in warm ups.

Thanks again to Ft. Lewis for having us and I look forward to our matchups in the future once we gain admission to the league. Best of luck this season, fellas.

late news, but utah beat utah state 27 - 5 on saturday.

Yes, CU had goo early shots, but no goals. Brian Stone(7 goals on the day and co-MVP of the game) had a hat trick before the end of the first quarter(Thanks to Danny Steven's Surgery Precision feeds). I'm pretty sure I was there and pretty sure CU never came out to begin with. They got most of their goals in the second or third when CSU started putting in back-ups.
