It was a great game. UWEC opened with a 2-0 lead, St. Thomas clawed back to take a 5-4 with a few moments left in the first half. In the second half we came out flat, and the Thommies frequently exposed and took advantage of our continuous defensive ineptitude, and came out with the lopsided victory.

Congrats, and good luck this postseason, St. Thomas! Thanks for making the trip.

Great night for a game in Mankato under the lights at Blakeslee Stadium. First time a club time as even stepped on the field. Mankato wins 10-5 over Stevens Point with a good crowd in the stands.

Final from St Cloud:

St Olaf - 11
St Cloud - 10

No team had a lead of more then two goals all night. Good hard hitting lacrosse game. The St Cloud goalie played OUTSTANDING. Olaf scored with 2 minutes left to secure the victory.

tiebreaker update:

Due to Mankato's win, Case 2,3 and 6 are now eliminated from contention - see UMLL tiebreaker thread for explanation of remaining options 1, 4 and 5.

If UWSP games are going to count to the final seeding then the tournament should be seeded with UWSP in the equation and then remove them and bump everyone under them up one place. If that were the case then if St Cloud beats UWSP tomorrow and gives up less then 5 goals we would be in and Marquette would be out. Or the easy way would be if the UWSP games were not a factor in the tournament seeding at all. If that were the case if we beat UWSP then we would be in and Mankato would be out. I understand with tiebreakers not everyone is going to be happy, what I’m looking for is some consistency. You can’t have a team be a factor in one way and not in another. Either UWSP is a factor in the seeding or they are not, but we have to choose.

Final From Northfield

St Olaf - 20
Stevens Point - 8

Olaf really had the offense clicking in the second half with some nice possessions. Eric Busse played very well in net for Olaf.

Just a quick question regarding UWSP not playing 3 OOC games. After reading in some other boards on the site, I am wondering is it an UMLL by-law that states a team is in-eligible for Conference championships if the no OOC games are played? I've never seen the by-laws so I have no idea. I was always under the 3 OOC were used in consideration for an at-large bid to the National Tournament, not conference tournament.

I do not believe that the UMLL is willing to take the chance that their automatic bid be ruined by a team winning the conference tournament that is not eligible for the national tournament. I think this is the reasoning behind making 3 OCC games a requirement for entry into the UMLL conference tournament. Anything to protect that AQ.

As I understand, the 3 OOC game are not required to compete in the National Tournament, so no AQ would be lost. The 3 OOC games are required for an at-large bid to the national tournament.
