Cal won the Central, not Cal Poly.

I don't understand the seedings this year, I thought that the play-offs were supposed to alternate ever year.

Why are the Top seeds from the LA division and the South division playing the second seeds from the other division. This is the same as last year.

This is a mistake by the WCLL itself if it keeps it this way in the future. With the shift in power towards the southern schools, the league is hurting it's self by knocking out a potential tournament team from it's own Final Four (again)

I would imagine that this is done for travel purposes so that a team doesn't have to travel from, for example, from Tucson, Tempe or San Diego, etc. to Sonoma, Cal or Cal Poly, etc on 5 days notice. The costs involved in trips like these, especially at the last minute are very high. It's easier and more cost effective to have the southern half of the WCLL and the northern half meet after deciding who the top 4 teams are.

I agree it would probably be more "fair" to rotate the matchups but I with the semester ending causing players to miss even more school for trips, I think the current way is best for the student-athlete.

I am sure it will be discussed at the next WCLL meeting along with trying to rebalance the four A divisions as we keep adding more teams.

The quarter final games are the same but the final four games are alternating. If the top seeded teams are to win their quater final games it would be
Noma/Arizona
UCSB/Cal
in the final four.

This is the opposite of last years match ups.

If you keep adding more teams, it might be time to split into 2 conferences.

If the league did that, then Sonoma would have an even easier time avoiding playing Santa Barbara

The WCLL should split for the reason that there is a huge disparity in competition between the south and north. No offense to teams like Cal, but for a team that is 8-10 to be a favorite to make the league semis, when it is guranteed that 2 teams in the south who are ranked will not make the semis. Sonoma's division hardly stands up to any other division in the WCLL for competition, and seems to be a wash about every year for them. Central division is not much better in terms of competition.

This divide of competition has been growing the last few years, and since the league is growing down south, maybe it would be a good time to do it.

Well, in the past the north was the stronger division. SSU, Cal and Stanford were on top of the WCLL for some time, so it's just a matter of the cycle of who is good at the time. Unfortunately, unless the WCLL goes to a ranked 1-8 quarterfinal match-up system, there is always the possibility of uneven quarterfinal games. Travel costs make this prohibitive, however, so it is just the unfair luck of the draw this time. Both ASU and UCSB have made strong cases for being at the national tournament already this year, so unless someone lays a complete egg, I don't think it will have too much outcome on who ends up going. If Cal runs the table, then they deserve a look too.

On the other hand, Sonoma could switch between the North and South each year like UCSB did for so many years, right dtrain34?

Well, well, well....sohightrightnow, hymph

Well played, I am glad to see that your time spent with the Mandible hasn't affected your own comedic wit. However, like usual, you are making a joke off of something that I or one of your other friends have said.

Get your own material. Drink your soda

P.S. Your signature is Christopher Walken's finest theatrical moment. Just to keep it going, "Larry, it's your mother. Open the door Larry. I'VE GOT A CHICKEN!"
