I'm VERY pleased to hear that Coach N is ok, but we continue to grieve.

Having been in Blacksburg just 3 days ago, we are shocked that such a tragedy could befall such a great group of people and such a great University. All our thoughts and prayers are to the victims, families, fellow students, professors, and entire Virginia Tech community.

Starting tonight through Thursday, April 19, the University of Texas' famed Tower's lights will be off in honor and rememberance of the fallen at Virginia Tech.

I heard from someone that the Ags played Silver Taps last night-highly unusual as they only play it for Aggies once a month. We only did Echo Taps for fallen cadets the night of the tragedy-so it's definitely a special gesture.
My worry-VT is going to play lax this weekend? How will the rest of the campus will take that? This reminds me of when people were bickering over playing sports after 9-11. Life goes on...but I would sure hate to see VT lax get some negative press over deciding to play. I know spring football was canceled-does anyone know what other teams there are doing?
It might be a nice gesture-regardless if VT makes it to the big dance, to do some sort of tribute for the tourney. Maybe at VT with a bakc ribbon helmet decal or a small 32. Just a thought.

VT lacrosse is confirmed for this weekend's SELC tournament in Duluth, GA. They will play on Saturday against Florida/USC/Clemson.
Most varsity VT sports are cancelled through tomorrow and they have cancelled Saturday's football spring game. But other varsity sports like baseball, women's lacrosse, and softball are suppose to resume this weekend:

PigPen, I agree with you that what Texas A&M did last night was really a nice gesture. As for others, Texas A&M will have its Muster this Saturday as the Corps of Cadets plus the former Aggies will gather at Aggieland to honor its fallen over the years. I do understand that the Muster will be also held in different parts of the world wherever the Aggies are.
