PNCLL Week #10 (4/10 - 4/17) -- Predict/Scores/Discuss

Postby Dr. Jason Stockton on Sun Apr 15, 2007 9:53 pm

That 2003 game still eats at me. . .we had the ball in a tie game with 30 seconds left, I called a timeout, ran a play, and we turned the ball over with about 6 seconds left. . .only to see you guys throw a half-field pass as the defender slipped and you scored as the clock expired. . .

The 1999 game was my first playoff game as a coach, and I remember that one down at Hillsboro stadium in Oregon. . .what a great game that was, with Kris Johnson scoring the game winner to propel us to the championship game vs. Lewis & Clark.

Whitman and PLU have a ton of history and both programs have had great success. I am so proud of the job Coach Lewicki has done - taking over that proud program from coach Schmitz. The Missionaries started out slow, but you guys are peaking at the right time and I expect it's going to be a great game.

See you at Gonyea Field on Saturday. . .

oh jason how could you remind me of that game... if I remember correctly i was the freshmen middie defender that slipped at the top of the box to let that goal go in on a wrecked spanaway park field.... although those are the most that make or break people...luckily for me it happened early and i learned from it. although that playoff game still haunts me i know it was a great game and i was proud to be a part of it.

I must have forgotten that you were still coaching back then, Jason. We'll see who gets a leg-up on the series Saturday.

I was playing that game... with a broken hand & a cast... It was terrible to lose by one & only be a decoy the entire time... I could barely pass the ball 15 feet let alone crank down to shoot. Dave's look of amazement after the game was priceless. A neat little cast fit nicely under my glove, still covered my thumb and everything.

Oregon State 13
Gonzaga 4

Congrats to the Beavers for clinching the #3 seed. OSU will play #2 Simon Fraser in the A Division semi-finals.

#1 Oregon will face either Boise State or Washington. BSU needs to beat Idaho and Gonzaga this coming weekend to earn their first-ever PNCLL playoff berth.

The SFU vs. OSU game will certainly be a great matchup. For those of you looking to catch this game on Saturday the 28th, this will be the last game of the evening at 8PM.

Oregon will be hosting their opponent, which is yet to be determined, at 5PM on the 28th.

We will release the schedule for all of the games once all of the teams are finalized. . .but for those of you making travel plans I thought I'd give you this information as early as possible.
