SOU/ACI was a great game to watch!

The Raiders pulled themselves together to recover from an early 1-9 Yote lead.

Game winner was a draw and dump from X between White and Baumann with 40 seconds on the clock.

Another huge game for Dan Snell, who played a bit of man-up today, held his own on the face-off x, and finished with a point or two.

Smart play by the offensive unit killed a cross-checking call on goalie Carter Boggess, who came through with big saves in the final stretch.

SOU played with two subs, and a lot of heart.
new and improved.

Today

So in the B Division it's down to Whitman at Albertson.

If the Missionaries win today, the playoffs will look like this:

QF1 #5 Whitman (5-3) at #4 Pacific Lutheran (6-2)
QF2 #6 Southern Oregon (5-3) at #3 Western Oregon (6-2)

SF1 #1 Montana (8-0) vs lowest-ranked QF winner
SF2 #2 Western Washington (7-1) vs highest-ranked QF winner

If the Coyotes win, there could be a three-way tie at 4-4 with Whitman, Albertson and Central, provded the Wildcats also win today. ACI and CWU have not played, so head-to-head and goal differential would be OUT, even though WC beat CWU and ACI beat WC head-to-head. Record versus common opponents would be the next tie-break. We'll figure that out if and when it comes about.

In the A Division, Oregon is #1 and Simon Fraser is #2. Oregon State can clinch a playoff spot with a win at Gonzaga today, eliminating the Zags from a chance at the post-season at the same time. A Bulldog win would mean the Beavers are eliminated, however, and GU would still be alive going into next week's showdown at Boise. With the loss to the Ducks, Idaho has been eliminated. Washington needs help -- a win by Gonzaga in either of the Zags' two remaining games or an Idaho win over BSU -- or the Huskies will be eliminated.

The Grizzlies have finally found their stride. . .let's just hope their depth pays off and they can sweep a brutal doubleheader with a win against MSU in a couple of hours. It looks like Montana is finally peaking. . .and it is at the perfect time.

It looks like Whitman will be travelling to Tacoma next weekend to face PLU in the first round of the playoffs. . .and Southern Oregon will travel North to Western Oregon in the other quarterfinal playoff game.

i know i have already said this but..WOW!! If i am not mistaken didn't montana state beat the griz earlier in the year?? this goes to show that polls don't mean that much during the regular season. I for one am excited to see montana play from a fans point of view. I sure didn't like them to much the last two years i was on the field with them but i now get an understanding and vision of just how good they really are...and can be.

Jason,

This match up evokes some good memories of Whitman/PLU post-season battles of yester-year, no? I remember my freshman year in '99, back when you were still coaching PLU, when the ball trickled into the goal on a broken play in OT to send you guys to the semis. And I'm sure Bubba remembers when we beat PLU back in '03 on a last-second goal in regulation.

'99, '03, 07--the timing is just right for another classic showdown. May the best team win.
