Now thats Missouri Lacrosse.
Obliterate the real weak teams.
But then get pounded on when they play anything of value..................
I thought they had turned a corner last year, but this year seems to follow the typical mediocrity we have come to accept from Mizzou.
Shame too. Always been a lot of talent on their squads.

Not surprising to hear such harsh words from a former Wash U player. All you guys do is talk trash. But, what has Wash U done lately since they won the GRLC a couple of years back? Like they arent mediocre?
All this constant Mizzou bashing gets ridiculous.

Brauss:
I was just looking at this season and did a small comparative study between this year and every other Mizzou season in the last six seasons. They have a pattern of beating nothing teams by a lot of goals, and then when they play a good team, they get hammered.
Last year was an exception, and with the quality freshman Mizzou had, it seemed like they were ready to take it to the next level. That might be a kind assesment since they really only beat one top tier team (Texas A &M), but they did get over the hump and beat WashU.
Now it appears they have backtracked and taken steps back.
On the subject of WashU, Bifulco inherited a messy situation losing basically his whole team in 2003. He has done a terrific job of rebuilding the team and I wouldn't be surprised to see them challenge for the GRLC championship.
In my opinion every team in the GRLC is mediocre. Until we advance in the USLIA tourney. Many thought Mizzou was over that hump, but its clear they were not.

David - I've always had a lot of respect for many of the former and current Wash U. players. I always liked and respected Bobby Dudley (even though he was in my crease for half the goals he scored on me), Adam Schickadanz (sp?), Mike Wheaton, Elliot Appel, Chris Houston, Coach Hood and Bilfuco, et al. I understand you feel the need to trash Mizzou every chance you get, even though you were undefeated against us, if I'm not mistaken. But you don't need to make stuff up just to try to make a point.
I admit that I cringed a little when I saw the 21-3 score, especially considering that St. Cloud, along with all Minnesota teams, tend to have some of the classiest players in the USLIA. But why didn't you get on your soap box when Lindenwood beat Rhodes College 26-2? What did you say last year when Wash U beat WIU 23-2?
For the record, I only remember getting "pounded" by Michigan and Auburn, and I'm pretty sure we played plenty of teams with "value".[/quote]

Well David, I haven't conducted any studies myself, but from my own personal experience I don't recall getting hammered (blown out by like 15 or more goals) by anyone other than Michigan the past 3 years that I played.
Being that the midwest does not produce that many lacrosse dynamos as a whole it is hard to schedule a lot of games out east and west to play the top dogs when they think you are a joke. It is also demanding financially speaking. So therefore, when you mostly stay near home you are going to face some not so good teams.
Last year we did have a lot of talented players, but as you can see this years team is not the same as last years. Many of the younger kids from last years team are not playing this year. So you can probably conclude that this is a situation in which it is time to rebuild, just as you say Bifulco has done.
I would agree with you that the GRLC is the weakest conference, but the future looks bright for the conference as lacrosse continues to grow throughout the midwest.
