Athletic footwear
So I was listening to radio Germany online the other night, and they did a piece on footwear companies. They listed the top 3 worldwide. One and two were gimmies(nike and adidas) but I was shocked at number 3. Any guesses?

it is Puma. I was surprised, I thought I was in style, and have never owned Puma footwear.

I went to the Puma store in the mall yesterday, and can now totally see how it'd be #3 worldwide. The store was full of euro-trash clothes and F1 gear all marred with the Puma emblem. I guess its a pretty big jump to that from what I always remember them as: the shoes hippies and soccer players wore in high school.

in europe, thats all you find on the feet, they have two different marketing campaigns and RD departments for US sales and apparel, as well as UK sales and apparel - my roommate went overseas and ended up coming back with 6 pairs for about 120 us dollars...
any Puma outlet carries alot of the "Euro" styles...some of them are hideous...some of them are quite nice, I bought my self a pair just to be cool.....
Not a hippie, definitely a soccer player at heart...

yeah i was in costa rica/nicaragua last summer and they love puma (theres one more popular brand that i can't think of and it's killing me!). Just think of how popular of a soccer brand it is, and then think of how popular soccer is everywhere else in the world (especially central/south america) and it makes sense.
