Even if the country splits into 3 semi-homogenous groups, there will still be battles over ideas - how to live, how to worship, how to rule, how to distribute oil revenues, how to persecute women, the list goes on and on...
It's a cocktail of Columbian corruption, Northern Irish religious hatred, Serbian grudges, and Rwandan butchery and Palestinian homicidal violence. We've tried for 4 years to help them out, first the Sunnis shot at us, now the Shiites are bombing us, and today more Sunni enclaves are battling with our Marines.
A lot more people are going to die before the price of violence becomes too high to bear and they come to the table for peace talks.
