you guys are way off topic. for 07 season i say the A div would be jaxton evans for usu hes been avg over 20 saves a game

Is anybody else creeped out by the third person bragging or " campaigning for All-Conference votes" I mean i've seen "campaigning" before but not in the third person.... I think the stats and skills talk for you ego can blur a great players vision. It also loses you alot of respect amongst peers and the "industry" or sport. (ala Chris mace or other "attackman from the fort")

The best advice I would say is keep giving great games and yes even on losing teams it's noticed.

He's a freshman... he doesn't know any better. In another forum he claimed that USU plays for the love of the game and not for stats, but then went ahead and relisted all of his... I mean Jaxton Evans stats.

honestly we do. my coach had to list stats due to possible fines, and i personally think stats ruin the game, it should be about which team won and thats it, it is after all a team game who care that this guy got 4 assists or this guy gets 12 saves or whatever who cares. And for the stupid "All Conference Player" awards what is the need for them honestly some one tell me, cause i see no purpose what so ever. If a player is sooooo good at his positon then most the players in the conference already know, whats the big deal some plaque or trophy to help there ego or what there is no purpose.

I agree, that was wierd...

As for "Campaigning", I don't see how its possible. When a coach votes for all-conference at the end of the year, he just thinks back to when his team played the other and only if he can't remember will he go to stats to make his decision.

Then again, stats lie when they're false. Not to name names, but there's absolutely NO way in heck that Colin OHayre made 115 saves in 4 games. He's a good player, but not that good. I've seen him play. Not to mention since he has 47 goals against, that means there has been 162 shots ON GOAL or 40.5 shots ON GOAL per game. I'm sorry, but bull.

Don't give me any talk about Mace at this school. He's a wierd character at that, but he left before I even got here. I don't know him. I never knew him. We keep accurate stats for everyone on the team.

Let's take last year's stats for UNC vs. UCIrvine. UNC Won 12-9- Congratulations- UNFORTUNATELY- UCIrvine took 24 shots and UNC's goalies combined allowed 9 goals and got 17 saves. 9+17=26. Wow! Two miraculous saves came out of no where!

Now you might be thinking this Mike Stone's crazy, but let's take UNC vs. Mines last year. Mines lost it 7-12 with my record for that game being 12 GA and 27 saves. 12+27=39on goal shots. UNC recorded 33 shots total. Well, that would make Mines look like liars, except we have the game on tape and you can count every save and goal. It would appear that there's some inaccurate stats for UNC again- Interesting.

In 2005, when UNC played Mont. St. and lost 2-20, UNC simply doesn't have any stats therefore, not hurting percentages. And when UNC played CU-Boulder, a Club A team, their goalie was 50% on the day with 19 GA and 20 saves. Maybe he's just that good, I don't know. But- then again, when UNC played Mines in '04 UNC took 59 shots and Chris Mace combined for 35 saves and 24 goals allowed.

So, Yes, Mace obviously changed stats. But Mines as a whole does not. Start looking at yourself before you throw stones "former coach of UNC".

As to the original topic, I'm going to go look in the rule book- Thanks Sonny.

Sweet, im still being talked about 2 years after my departure from Mines lacrosse and running off into the real world, thats a legacy, good or bad.

And I took the stats that were recorded from the statbook, and the stats for that UVSC game that everyone likes to bring up where actually from the UVSC stat book (also the hawtness). And as far as me being a wierd person...well thanks stone, thats umm, special. I didnt change stats, we just defined a shot differently....not that it mattered in the end and doesnt really matter now. (I didnt even make all conference ever, so its no biggie, although I did get to play in vail last year and beat CSU, that was cool)

Thanks for remembering me!

True that,

Actually, while taking a break from work and thinking about this a bit more, I want to congradulate Div B of the RMLC (was the RMILL for most the time I played for it) for graduating to a point where this is an issue. The league has changed soo much in the time that I have been gone, and I think its awesome. 3 years ago, this wasnt even an issue, and if you look at the save stats from like 03 and 04, everyones stats where like that. I think the general idea back then was if the ref called it a shot for endline stuff, then we called it a shot, and that a goalie could influence the shot vectoring due to their position in the goal. Now that Div B and the RMLC is becoming more big time, its good to see the rules change to fit that.

All I have to say now is, Stone, Beat Fort Lewis, because when we did it it was the highlight of my college career. Everyone, you only get to do this once, live it up! I know I miss it alot.

Oh, and heckle away at me, I happen to enjoy it!

uvsc has a good goalie but i would not say that he is the best in the league. the goalie from byu is very good i have seen him on tv and in person and would say that he is at the top of my list. Is this years gollie for cu the same as last year? if so i think that he is the best in our league

What hundreds of goalies there isn't even 20 goalies in the league, I guarantee i ve seen more games in this league, this season than most, so i know who is better. uvsc will take westminster because of there goalie. you will see good luck this season.
