Kyle:
Even you said beginning games don't count as much as the ones happening now. We played an incredibly sloppy offence against a good solid D. I can tell you we've worked out the kinks. So there you go. You can tweak the numbers as much as you want to fit it your way. I just can't see people moving teams up in the polls for losing by a small amount to a good team. That would be the first time i've ever heard that. Quality losses, hmm....
3/7/07 Division B poll is out!

St. John's was in a similar situation only a few years ago:
2002 1-12
2003 5-11
Since 42-6 (including this season)
It's nice to see when teams improve so quickly! Good luck to you guys the rest of the season!!
Man, what changed at St John's in 2004...new coach, better funding, recruitment, all of the above, or a pact with the devil???

This could just be me, and this isn't just directed at you or this post, but to some of the Harding players over the past year or so, but I think it's a bit scuzzy to toot your own horn on these boards.
Talk is cheap, prove it on the field. If you are as good as you say, I look to see a top 3 performance at Nationals and a whooping of everyone else on your schedule the rest of the season.

Branden,
While what I wrote was the exact opposite of your opinion, it was not supposed to be a shot at you or the Harding team. I'm sorry you are obviously upset about it, but it's all we have to rate your team. A handful of OOC games, early in the season or late, it's sad but true. We don't have much other criteria, I didn't twist any facts. Records/scores of games between common opponents is one of the best ways for us to tell the relative strength of teams. Some pollsters go based strictly off of win or loss, I don't, we simply don't play a large enough schedule. I hope you guys can prove that's you're top 5 in the B & make a good showing in Dallas, it will only make the tournament better.
I was/am truly asking for you to back you poll up, show us why each of these teams belongs where they are. If you don't think judging a team's strength in part by how close their losses were is a decent indicator, back up your poll positions with quality wins or another criteria. It's a tough thing to do, you're more than entitled to your own opinion, I was simply hoping to discuss it.

We had a large influx of recruits come in, with the majority of them having played 2-3 years of high school ball, and the players who were already here had gained substantial college lax experience by then. Also, I think the 03-04' season was the second year we had full-time coaching, and the overall mentality of the team began to change from a "beer-league" one to "let's win games." All of this helped to foster a more competitive attitude and team at St. John's.

Branden,
I went back to re-read my post, you're obviously upset & I wasn't sure why you made a few of the comments you did, but youre right... When I put "key losses" in regards to UNC it sounded terrible. I remember changing that wording a few times, but I finally decided to erase all of the other scores I posted. They're 8-3, they've beaten the teams they were supposed to beat, & lost what were typcially close games to teams ranked ahead of them. I didn't want to try & make a real complex arguement, I wanted the scores to speak for themselves as much as possible.
Good luck in the rest of your season,

I'd just like to say I was correct about all my picks up to the 6 spot. I even gave montana and montana state more credit than was due. Obviously people agree with me. Also, I wasn't "tooting my own horn". I was simply trying to make a statement that you can tweak numbers and game situations to fit your opinion. Besides, all i said is that we worked on our sloppy offence. Hasen't everyone? I'm not upset at all, just making my point known, which by the way, was apparently the opinions of the voting staff. Can't wait for nationals, but we've got to get there first.

At the risk of coming off as an even larger pain.... You took the easy way out. You haven't defended your poll, group think doesn't make your opinion correct.
