The article finally answered my question regarding Virginia Tech being a member of the Deep South Conference!
Interesting info about the associate members.
However, I am a little disappointed that the article implies that there was no varsity lacrosse teams prior to the NCAA taking over. It is a popular misconception that there was no official college varsity contests in any sport prior to the NCAA taking over. There were varsity athletes long before the NCAA came along. Just a shame that the NCAA and media discredit the records of teams that played before the NCAA took over.
