I love it. Even better that it was Michigan.

2 X #1 in the same week.

The Sun Devils have definitely emerged as a team to beat in '07, and at this point in the season may be the top WCLL team.

Who woulda' thunk it?

Coach Hopkins has to move into a front running position for coach of the year with that win. As long as they don't fall apart (which would be highly unlikely) they should make the Nat'l Championship Tournament. Taking a team that hasn't made the WCLL Playoffs in recent history to the tournament is quite a feat. Still early but he and his team are on track for a memorable year.

And once again, Michigan was overrated.

BYU 20
ASU 5
- at ASU

ASU 13
Michigan 12
- at Michigan

You tell me who should have been #1 in the last poll. BYU had beaten 3 of the top 6 teams, Michigan had beaten...FSU. Congrats to ASU. They are playing some good lax.

Looking at the stats, Michigan outshot ASU 2 to 1. However, ASU made over half their shots. They must have some incredible shooters.

Whether Michigan is over rated or not is up for debate, but you could say that about any #1 that looses. BYU got beat a month ago when they were #1.

I think using the ASU games to compare BYU and Michigan might be misleading. Both the players and Coach Hopkins did not bring their A game to their first game of the year. They have obviously improved a great deal since that game. The argument however will soon be answered when the "Y" travels to Ooosterbanaaan in two weeks.

We will see if BYU is once again worthy of the #1 title since they still have CU, Michigan, Michigan St., and Utah left on the schedule. To be followed by two games against Utah, CU, or CSU.

This has been the best season in the history of this league (as far as competition goes that is, I'm sure we can all agree that the '97 and '00 seasons were the best on record :) .) ASU and UCSB just beat top 5 teams and neither were ranked in the top 10. There has been a new #1 in every poll, and will continue with the next poll. What happens if BYU looses before the next poll....
