4 games in a day..unless they're running clock and they have a ton of #'s...they're crazy...or ambitious

Or maybe both... assuming they make all their games and all goes well, have to admit, thats showing some dedication!

Still, six games in two days even with this format! I think the players will sleep well on the bus ride home. Good luck with the season, it is a very impressive schedule for a new squad, and if you carry it off I think you would merit strong consideration for entry.

(Speaking from personal experience at this level of the game) 17 games in 30 days is overkill for most any normal program, but especially for brand new ones.
Less is more when starting out and baby steps are needed. It's better to say no to a few games or a roadtrip, lest you kill the program in Year 2 or 3.
I've seen way to many teams sport the "impressive" schedule right out of the chute - only to crash and burn hard shortly thereafter.

I for one must say I am impressed...
I am the President of the newly formed University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Lacrosse Club (Whom is one of the first games on that impressive schedule) and we are honored to have our very first game against another first year team in Saignaw Valley...
Starting up a program is hard (believe me I know) and I am in honestly jealous at all of the games you guys got scheduled... I hope you guys get some W's on the way, if not its going to be a great learning season...
In a couple days I'll see you guys on the field... Hopefully after 3 years out of the net I'll have a few saves... Time will tell... But good luck and I'm glad to see Lacrosse spreading like wildfire... In both Johnstown and Saignaw...
(We too are looking to get into the CCLA... However, I doubt we will be in next year... We're going to take a slower route, but to any CCLA teams or potential CCLA teams with free weekends in April please e-mail me at jgh10@pitt.edu)

You are correct.....UPJ. SVSU and CMU never had a game scheduled. We were going to attempt a small scrimmage if time allowed, but timing, ref availability and field allocation didn't work out. Basically we hosted for UPJ and SVSU. Our defensive coach has a few kids that he use to coach in high school on UPJ's team and Luke and I our friends so we wanted to help both teams out. It was a fairly close game, but SVSU was clearly the better team.
SVSU has some solid athletes, but they need to get the stick work down. They traveled well and even had SVSU's athletic director joining them on the trip. They have about 35 guys and were very organized. There are currently 3 high school programs in the Tri-Cities, so they should be able to slowly build a home base.

Actually I believe the final score to the game was 10-7...
Score at the end of the first quarter was 5-3...
Then Saignaw scored 2 goals per quarter and 1 in the final quarter for 10 goals...
It was 7-4 at the half... And both teams scored 3 goals in the second half...
A very good game though and we look forward to playing Saignaw again next year... But for three weeks of pratice we faired pretty well I thought...
As the President of the UPJ Lacrosse club I would like to personally thank SVSU for the game and CMU for hosting us... We are honored to have played the first game in franchise history against a team with such great sportsmanship and dedication... Next year we plan on traveling to SVSU over spring break I'm already going to start working on it...
I'd like to personally thank the SVSU players and I hope this gets forwarded... But I play goalie and the one thing that I say as very postive and very great about the game was the fact that Saignaw's Attack was giving my newer defenders advice and good advice... I, who I personally saw as your best attack man go to one of my defenders after he cleared the ball and was like "Man when you clear don't throw it to the middle" and then was like "Look when your defending do this" and showed him how to sidestep... I approached him and was like "Thanks, I appreciate the advice" and inturn he said "No, prob. we are all new here"...
Saignaw Valley couldn't be a better group of guys... And hopefully someday both SVSU and UPJ will be in the CCLA together and play each other on a regular basis... But I am still very thankful our first game was against you guys...
So how did the IUP game go?

I think the final score was 13-8 or so in IUP's favor. IUP was able to get all their players in and get the younger guys some good experience. Saginaw definantly has potential for the future.
champions are made when no one is watching.

I want to thank any one who made a positive or supportive comment. I do want to apologize to any CCLA representative who may be "put off" by the attention garnered by my post. My intention was only to keep the league posted of our commitment.
I do apologize for misrepresenting our schedule in including Carnegie Mellon as our first game. Anthony and I had miscommunicated regarding our match there. After my initial post, Anthony contacted me to inform me that he could only give us fifteen minutes as his team made arrangements for another commitment. I did not want that limited time with them. Of course being an independent team, as we are, all of our games could be considered scrimmages with no league ramifications. As some of you may know we are looking to prove ourselves for CCLA membership. I am looking to give my team a quality schedule and challenging experiences. In that light only full length collegiate games will be our concentration this spring, except in the case of the tournament at Ohio State University.
Thanks to Anthony and Carnegie Mellon University for hosting our game versus Pitt-Johnstown. My statistician has the game scored:
SVSU - 9
UPJ - 7
Thanks to Ian Duckworth and Indiana University of PA for hosting us on Sunday. My statistician has the game scored:
IUP - 13
SVSU - 8

Once again as the President of the Pitt-Johnstown Lacrosse club I want to thank Saignaw Valley for such a great game... We hope to actually come out and play you guys next year. We are also shooting toward getting into the CCLA though it may take us a year or two as we are still working on getting all the necessary support from the school as well as the simple fact that we just need another season to get our club to a competitive and organizational level of other CCLA teams... Any teams intrested in playing games against Pitt-Johnstown next year (spring or fall) please e-mail me: jgh10@pitt.edu
