Impressive showing by UMD, despite the loss. This should silence a few of the doubters out there...

I, for one, am glad to see that it isn't just the big 4 or 5 that are capable of playing at the highest MCLA level.

Now if I could ask a favor of UMD to not play as well on national TV this week... :D

And all 40 Division A pollsters sit and wait.....

;)

Sonny,

Seeing as there were 2 match ups involving Top 25 teams that occured the Monday and Tuesday before the release of the poll, several may have the same question I have - that is, were these results included in the pollsters' rankings? In other words, when were the rankings due to you? (which i expect was prior to tuesday night at midnight - and thus could have excluded these result) Any insight into whether these are or are not included may help tomorrow's discussion.

This was a great game to watch. I'm not sure if it was included in the posts, but UMD actually tied the game at 7-7 but the goal was waived off for a crease violation. No. 22 for UMD is the real deal, very strong middie - UMD has some very talented players. The last time I saw them was several years ago in the Lou... they are much improved since then.

(Except the final vote) All poll votes are due at 9pm Eastern on the Tuesday evening BEFORE the poll is announced each Wednesday morning on the web site.

The voters had about 3.5 hours after the conclusion of the UMD/CSU game to revise their vote, if they wanted to.

This is a firm deadline applied all year long, regardless of when games are scheduled or completed.

I'll speak only for myself as a pollster. I waited until after the UMD-CSU game to finalize and cast my ballot. The result was as I expected, a very close game. The Bulldogs are good.

And even if they didn't revise their vote, it should come to bear in time for the end of the season.
