We've just been informed that the game between Minnesota and Duluth scheduled for this weekend has been canceled.
We also just got official word from the U that all Sport Club travel has been canceled.
Please spread the word to anyone who was planning on making the trip to St. Cloud.
We'll post the date and location of the make up game as soon as we have one.

Just read that 140 school districts in MN were closed even before the storm hit. I have a friend living in Mpls and let me know that the roads are slippery; the snow is still falling.

They have been closed since 6 am today....UMD suspend classes at 2 pm today and canceled them throughout the rest of the week. I got out today for awhile and these conditions were the worst I have ever driven in. We are supposed to get 10 inches over night and 10 inches tomorrow. This is the worst weather I been in since 1990's Halloween Blizzard.

Sure enjoyed the videos as I am prepared for my brief trip to Mpls from March 14 thru 17. Before March 14, I will be going to Detroit to visit my friends.

I don't know what you wimps are complaining about. If you think that's tough weather, clearly you've never been to San Diego in winter. I mean, do you have any idea what an increased risk of skin cancer we run? Talk about constant stay-inside weather.

When I was younger and lived in WI, barely anyone complained about weather, no matter how bad it was. You dealt with it, and most times celebrated a huge snowfall. It took an act of God to close schools, and businesses never closed. Now I read in my hometown newspaper that schools were cancelled for Friday on Thursday, and the Barnes & Noble closed early because of roads. What have we become??
...Why is a Barnes & Noble closing newsworthy, anyway?

When I grew up in Rochester, NY, schools would only close if the weather conditions became SO bad. I still vividly recall one day when I was in a math class at the Rochester School for the Deaf (NY), and we noticed that the snow was falling fast and hard. We immediately knew that it would only mean that we would go home early that day. Ironically, the school had speakers (DUH, we couldn't hear that, but we had hearing teachers anyway), and my name was announced when my bus arrived. Before my name was announced, my classmates and I were "betting" to see who would go home first. I have been through several historical blizzards in Rochester, and my fondest memories were standing in the middle of the street and trying to peer through the snow. I am sure most of y'all do remember playing King of the Hill games.
Well, now, I don't miss shoveling. Like I said earlier, I am honestly excited to go back to visit the Northern states. The last time I've been up there was more than 20 plus years ago. I have never been to Minnesota, so I am quite amped up for that trip.

Guys, I'm glad you feel comfortable driving yourselves and are secure in your own invulnerability. But when you have over 40 players whose saftey is of the utmost importance, and the bus company doesn't want the job because of concerns over road conditions, I'm not going to contradict the bus company.
