Back in the days when heads were wider, shorts were shorter and our helmets weighed 40lbs! Great stuff!

That clip was referenced on the laxpower forum yesterday. Great stuff there. The Panarelli check against West Genny is unreal.

Is that Fred Opie at about :40 into the video?

Near the end of the vidclip, seeing a guy's stick break in half was quite hilarious. On the other hand, it was fun seeing other guys scrambling to pick up their sticks when they were checked.

That's Matt Brown from the Denver Outlaws who had his shaft snapped. He worked a youth camp for our program last fall and one of the kids asked him about it. He said he looked down and saw the shaft in two pieces and just started laughing.

Not Fred Opie, Aaron Jones.

Note the quicks of Tim Goldstein (#15 red @ around the 1 min mark)

Is that Maryland in the early clips vs. Hop?

Didn't Goldstein have a younger brother (maybe Dennis) that played attack at UNC (might have won a NC in the early 1990's).

Who's the pole in the USA/Canada clip? Larry Quinn in goal?

I don't think so - I"m pretty sure it's Cornell, but im open to discussion on why you think it is maryland.

Timmy was older than Dennis. Dennis went to UNC and won an NCAA title - correct on both points!

NOt sure who is the USA pole, and it is Quinn in goal.

At first glance I took the secondary color to be orange, so I thought Opie. Then I thought it looked red, so I guessed Maryland. If you say Cornell, I'm good with Cornell.

I just watched - we're both correct.

The first clip of JHU taking the ball away from a player in white - that player is a twerp (Note LI bias  ) But the next two clips of the defenseman in the white uniform stripping the ball is Cornell on defense.

I love the check that Glatzel throws. I remember that check distinctly in the 2001 Championship Game between Syracuse and Princeton.

Not wanting to take anything away from this thread on stick checks, but I saw there is a funny vidclip called Frontyard bloopers and dirty hits. Funny to watch those boy playing lacrosse in the front yard and doing some dirty hits, for example, one boy ran behind the makeshift goal and clobbered the goalie.

Glatzel's checks always arrived with authority - a "heavy" check.
