So were you playing or doing the stats? Sorry but Nebraska does not have a sterling reputation of reporting goalie stats (if they were reported at all) over the last couple years.

I am going to agree with Jolly Roger on this one.

Cornell 10, UNO 6

Congrats to Bill Hazel and the Cornell Lacrosse team for their first win not via forfeit.

Sounds like they are improving.

Hate to do this on the board but you are wrong TJ, i have the stat book in front of me, there were 15 saves recorded which is about right. Not to take anything away from their goalie because he did play a very good game. But he was no where near 29 saves

For the record, from the NCAA 2007 Men's Lacrosse Rules:

Appendix II
Records Keeping
Section 1a
Goalkeeper saves- A save is recorded any time a ball is stopped or deflected by the goalkeeper's body or crosse in such a manner that had the ball not been stopped or deflected, it would have entered the goal.

I think we all have Texas Tech for really pushing this goalie save issue to the forefront. I am surprised that nobody is freaking out about the assists that are recorded. At the end of the day, I put little weight into a goalie's save percentage and if you look at the All-Conference Awards for goalies I do not think many others do either. It is too subjective - not in the rulebook, but to the individual scorekeepers. I do pay attention to assists that are recorded and just hope they are close to accurate.

I personally use hockey rules to dole out the assists, sometimes if a play is really nice I will even give out three assists - SARCASM.

meh. its happens. i was just relaying what i was told from my coach....then again the stat book wasnt in his possesion at the time. And yeah 15 sounds about right.

And i was really impressed with cornell's playing this whole weekend. They played with heart and intensity. With that they came up with a great win. Congrats guys and good luck the rest of the season.

i agree for the most part, but I wanna switch

Arkansas- Baylor

I also want to wish luck to the Nebraska guys. This first weekend could be a little indication to the progress you said you made in the off-season

Thanks guys for the confindence. We unfortunately didn't pull through though, due to few amount of practices (thanks weather) and our own unfortunate mistakes. Glad to see the season has started though, and GOOD LUCK to everyone this season.
