Presbyterian Slap in the Face

Presbyterian Slap in the Face

I don't have facebook but this was showed to me by a friend of mine who I work with that was a GT alumni. If you have facebook here's the link...

http://git.facebook.com/event.php?eid=2229939940

If not what it basically is, is a facebook group called PC Lax dominates Georgia Tech and telling everyone they know how bad they're going to beat up on Tech Feb. 10th after I might add one person said they "whip up on Clemson".

As a starting varsity program I sure hope they can back this up because after GT has three weeks to stir this over they're going to be ready.

As a general question if you were the coach and found out how would you handle it?

Hmm...what was the score of the GT-Presbyterian game a year ago? Maybe 18-4 Georgia Tech?

There's also the fact that any serious varsity program is going to laugh in the face of an NCAA team boasting about beating up on a club team. Nevermind the fact that the numbers and history aren't even in their favor.

They might want to take a look at their roster before boasting about that as well. They have a midfielder who weighs 140lbs!? Are you kidding me. GT is a pretty big team from what I have seen and they have excellent coaching. I'd like to be able to make it down for that game.

When I was a junior, we found some similar message board postings a few weeks before one of our games. I guess the guys posting it thought it was only viewable by their own team or school or something, but the captains quickly sent it around to the rest of the team. We ended up winning that one by about 13 goals or so (and had lost by one or two goals the year before to the same team).

It's why you constantly hear of coaches posting stuff in the locker rooms and telling their guys not to say stupid things to the media.

What are the Presbyterian players thinking? Do they realize that all this will do is provide GT, a better, more experinced team, with more motivation to "whoop up" on a young, inexperienced PC squad? February 10th should be an interesting day.

HAHAHAHA thats ridiculous! I think its funny when any NCAA team boasts about woopin up on a club program. Plus Presbyterian has nothing to back up the claim that they are gonna beat Gtech. In fact its probably gonna be a blue hose slaughter. I mean it was bad enough seein my st andrews scores and stats against them. But i mean look at their roster and where theyre recruiting from....most of them are from the carolinas where lacrosse really just started happening a few years ago. GO BULLDOGS!

but a 140 pound player....you cant really knock him for that. I've seen PLENTY of small kids that are straight nasty on the field. Lacrosse is the one contact sport when you really dont need size to be good.....thoguh it helps.

It must suck for a D2 NCAA team to lose to a club team?

GT is no slouch. FSU spanked Mars Hill last year. "Club" teams beat varsity teams more often than people give credit for.
