I would be sick to my stomach if I ever saw a Geico or GoDaddy.com ad on the pitch of any of these fields

"Lambeau", "Soldier" and "Pitch" in the same post, you sir are no traditionalist.

Don't they already use on field advertising with Australian Rules Football and Rugby? And, I even think the way they paint it on the field is to give off a 3-D look when seen on TV. I was looking for some pictures, but don't have the liberty/time right now (work).

This is very fesible and could be made to be reliable. We've all seen the cheesy christmas trees that have the fiber obtic strands that change colors periodically. I'm not sure why there would be a lot of reliability concerns. I'm actually surprised no one has thought of this earlier. The thing that would be tricky is getting the strands to act and respond like sprint turf.

The material can be made out of anything really. As long as it's an acceptable medium to transfer the light. They possibly could put a very small strand inside a turf strand and since there's so many it'd be fluid.

Those strands are made in such a way that it would be a relatively simple process.
