I will guarantee that the boot will be in the hands of the Mustangs by the end of this weekend. If my memory serves me Chico was beat in the fall by Nevada, the same team Poly just chewed up and spit out. There will be a few old Chico players wearing Poly jerseys after this one, once they lose their bets.

You can never look too literally into a fall ball game. Apparently that was Chico's 3rd game of the day. They played and beat Cal 1st who just played UCSB to a one goal game. Plus I hear that Chico has finally come over some of their eligibility issues. Will be a tough game and looks like it may be raining up in Chico.

Cal Poly will win by a margin of about 5 goals. Their faceoff guy will dominate Chico's, and the fact that Nevada was "chewed up and spit out" doesn't say much considering they had a middie in goal. Also, Fall Ball means nothing.
Falsehoods are well-told, so think for yourself...

I wish I had a dollar for every time this has to be pointed out. I could retire early.

I was at the game (it wasn't a scrimmage). Cal is a much improved team. Their goalie looked amazing. However, I saw very few stick saves from him. Is that a good keeper, poor shooting by the Gauchos, or a combination of both? Only time will tell. Other than the first five minutes, UCSB defense looked pretty solid. Both offenses looked poor, but that is the way it always seems to go. Offense usually takes a few games to catch up to the level that defenses play at. What I took away from the game was that Cal looked much better than they have in the past, but both teams looked to have some serious first game jitters.

It is only the beginning of the season. Things change after a few games. There is a chance that UCSB lost a step, but I highly doubt it. Even with five regular season losses last year, they still managed to finish 3rd/4th in Dallas. And if you looked at their game on Sunday, they beat Stanford pretty easily. I haven't seen UCLA play yet this year, but they were second in the LA division last year. So they might be on their way to another good season. We will give it a few weeks before we can make some judgments on these teams. That is one of the reasons why they don't release the first poll after the first week.

BYU vs. Arizona
How is no one talking about the BYU vs. Arizona game, this could be the biggest game of the year so far. I am predicting BYU winning by 6.

I agree how is no one talking about the upcoming AZ games with BYU.
Also, I think it is great that BYU has the manpower and resources to put out so many releases, but does anyone really care how their in practice scrimmage went this week.
Sounds like some cheesy scare tactics or maybe some people up in Provo have too much time on their hands.

The local student newspaper at BYU puts out the coverage. Not the team.
If a local student or commercial newspaper put out an article on your favorite WCLL team, let us know. We will run that too.
We should welcome ANY and ALL coverage we get at this level of the game.
That being said, I'm looking to hire some sports writing interns to cover the WCLL including Southern California/Arizona. More info here:
