Davenport University adds lacrosse to athletic programs

That was a surprise - I didn't know that Davenport had ANY athletic teams.
I do believe it will be a while before they put together any kind of competitive program. Having Stacy Faulkner leave the EGR HS girl's squad puts a crimp in a newly developing program there.

A few bits of info on Davenport athletics.
The women's volleyball team has struggled to draw talent to keep the team competitive . . . the coach (a very nice guy active in the sport) had invited my fiance, who's more accomplished at beach than indoor, to use her last year of eligibility to play for them. I am sure she would have helped them, but to offer a scholarship for even a single year of eligibility, tells you something. He also told me that he has gone as far as to recruit a 6'3" South American only to find that basic english abilities were in need of work.
I have heard good mumblings about their hockey team though. A quick look at scores on their schedule impressed me at first glance.
10/13 Calvin College - 6-1 (W)
11/03 Oakland University - 5-1 (W)
12/02 Ohio State University - 10-2 (W)
01/19 University of Michigan - 10-2 (W)
02/03 Colorado State University - 5-2 (W)
The athletics department does reportedly have the support of the college president, it's been one of his priorities, or so I've heard.
I believe they could even have a similar situation to Lindenwood with "scholarships", or whatever that all was about.
Oh, and Bob Clarkson is a very nice fella as well.

"Ignore the critics and embrace the criticism . . . everything is version .9, waiting for one more upgrade before it's right."
