Cal Poly 14 Nevada 3

Nevada 10 Pacific 0

I saw the UNR UOP game, Pacific does have a lot of work ahead. nevada, for a team with 2 subs, looked good throughout. They have a couple of good players, and played solidly as a team.

Thanks Todd. To clarify, Nevada has two factors contributing to low numbers early in the season. 1st, the Wolfpack recently went through somewhat of a "committment purge" and laid down the "if you don't make ALL the practices you will not travel or play". It worked. Nevada dropped roughly 8 players from Fall 2006, 2 of them seniors, and will continue to recruit from the student body throughout the semester. 2nd, Because Nevada's University semester started on Jan 22nd there was little time to get new players class schedules certified before the eligibility deadline set 14 days prior to the first game. Along with that, two varsity freshman have comittments to NCAA sanctioned sports and in order to recieve their scholarship money they cannot play until that commitment has ended.

Facts:
Nevada played on Saturday with Junior middie Rob Ghiglieri in goal. He recorded 12 saves against Cal Poly in the 3-14 loss.

The following day in his 2nd game ever as a starting goalie against Pacific he recorded 13 saves in the 1st shutout in Nevada Lacrosse history.
Falsehoods are well-told, so think for yourself...
