For MDOC Level 1 training goals and objectives:
http://www.uslacrosse.org/mens_div/mdoc ... oals.phtml
For MDOC Level 2 training goals and objectives:
http://www.uslacrosse.org/mens_div/mdoc ... oals.phtml
We are strongly encouraging (requiring) all high school coaches to attend both the MDOC Level 1 and 2 training sessions. The third session may be more worthwhile for the college players/coaches if you are only attending one session.

Will,
I found a thread in the PNCLL Board a few days ago dealing with their negative ramifications of the new MCLA game fees contract.
The GRLC is unbelievably blessed to have you and to have your help creating a new pool of officials in Nebraska. For those that have not read the thread, find a link below. We could very possibly find ourselves in a similar situation in the future without your help. I hope all the teams in your neck of the woods realize how much money you are saving them in the future. It is no small chunk of change.

I have been following the PNCLL referee thread very closely. While I agree with some of the posts that you can't generate lacrosse referees overnight, it is possible to develop them over time and I am a very strong proponent of recruiting and training referees. The recruitment and development of new officials is becoming even more important under the new payment schedule.
We started with youth lacorsse at the YMCA in the fall of 2000 and have grown into a high school league of 7 teams (now in its third year). We have benefited from the efforts of a few individuals that have worked hard to learn the game and become educated officials. While a few were former players, some transitioned from having reffed other sports including soccer and basketball. Each year they improve and we continue to identify more and more "propects." We have a former DI player who has served as a coach and referee for our High School league over the past 2 years. He started officiating GRLC fall games in 2006 and will hopefully step up to the collegiate level in the near future. There is a former collegiate club coach that relocated to Omaha and after getting some experience at the youth level will hopefully progress to high school and then GRLC games.
I understand that you don't become an experienced lacrosse official by just taking the COC test online. It takes game experience. The sooner teams start recruiting officials and getting them games, the sooner we will have more quality officials in all regions of the geographically vast GRLC.
