Mild Winter 2007 -- Affect on MCLA Teams?

Postby Dan Wishengrad on Thu Jan 04, 2007 5:38 pm

Been reading about this mildest winter on record so far for much of the Central and Eastern U.S., and was wondering how this was affecting MCLA teams in the CCLA, PCLL and UMLL. Are most of you able to get outside now on fields which usually would be snowed under in January?
If so, I'll bet you are loving being able to go full field instead of being cramped inside on a basketball court or in a small fieldhouse.

i bet some teams are happy, but for teams like us and michigan, and maybe a few others?, we have a nice indoor field facility. So i guess the benifit goes to those with out.

We budget and plan to be indoors until march. The university gives us a bunch of time in our football building, so this really isn't that big of a deal.

Also from what I hear the "normal" weather is returning to Michigan soon.

Knock on wood... I just hope we don't have our regular rains come late January or early February in Texas. That tends to happen sometimes during those months.

I'm not sure how many are going to be able to take advantage of the weather. January is suppose to be "normal", starting next week. Just in time for the start of everything.

Glad that some of you have decent weather. We're burried in the snow up here in Ellensburg, WA. Small, Div. II school. No indoor football facility. you can count the amount of times we can get into our tiny, tiny, fieldhouse during the winter months on one hand. This is me crying. This is me crying.

well i wish my school could donate to your cause with out it raising my tuition. If only. Then we'd all be happy.

P.S. the best thing about indoor facilities is that everyone loves to run in them during the winter. And the perk of that ....is having a random runner getting hit by a shot while practicing picking courners during the day....or what my partner in crime and i like to call picking runners. but that only when we tell them that the place is closed. Then they deal with the consequences.

.....ok well i like to nail a runner in the thigh and see him go down. national geographic style. but i guess the scared jump is almost as satisfying.

In addition to facial injuries, she suffered multiple contusions and bruises about the body, along with headaches, nausea and anxiety.

wait....it said that she just got hit in the face.....so how did she get all the other body bruises? i mean it didnt mention her being hit with a hailstorm of lacrosse balls.
