James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured "Godfather of Soul," whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of rap, funk and disco as well, died early Monday, his agent said. He was 73.

Rest in Peace James Brown!
In his later years he almost became a parody of himself with his run-ins with the law, occasional drug experimentation  and humorous booking pictures. (Does ANYONE ever look good in a mug shot?)
But having grown up as a pre-teen in the mid-60's - I can tell you JB was ELECTRIC! He was Elvis, Mick, Prince, etc. all rolled up into one incredibly flashy package that kind of scared the heck out of much of white America! He was Sex on stage, and not afraid to flaunt it, and was very much a piece of the I'm Black and I'm Proud attitude that sprang out of the achievements of the civil rights movement. He was the MAN!
Owwwww!! I feel good.....I knew that I would!! :)

James Brown was awesome. I saw him in concert 5 or 6 years ago and even at his age, he put on one of the best shows I've ever seen.
