740,521 sheep piled into Neyland this year. Go Vols! Beat the unranked Nittany Lions!

Anyone ever wonder how safe it really is to have all of these stadiums at an average over capacity? How do they get away with it?

$$$$$$$.......and all of the cops and fire marshals get the best seats in the house, right on the field.

I know that Madison had to reinforce their stadium do to the Jump Around song. They were worried about structural integrity.

Does listed capacity refer to how many actual seats there or is it how many total people (seats and standing room) are allowed? This could be how they get around it. And the fire marshall is a "friend of the program"

The under 40% capacity teams, Tulane (understandable), UAB, Temple and Utah State - time to rethink Div. 1A - isn't there an attendance component to maintaining 1A status? It would be interesting to see the game by game attendance decline for Miami to finish at 57.95%. I would never have guessed UConn to be at 97.35% capacity - that is remarkable!

I believe it is at least 10K or 15K per game.

I love UConn, but to say that 40,000 are actually at each game is a stretch. They may sell 40,000 tickets, but only about 30,000 show up... and maybe 15,000 stay for the second half. When I saw WVU and UConn play, the game was close at the half but just about everybody left! Ouch!
