Community mourns Muse siblings, killed in car accident last week

On any given day, more than 2,600 students file into both Gov. Thomas Johnson High School and Monocacy Middle School in Frederick.
These days, however, only two students are on the minds of most filing in and out of those buildings — Dustin Muse, 16, and his sister Courtney, 13.
On Monday, hundreds of students, family and community members gathered at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on North Place to remember the Muses.
Five days earlier the two were killed on U.S. Route 15 when the Jeep Wrangler Dustin was driving left the road and struck several trees just outside Leesburg, Va.
Loudoun County, Va., authorities have been unable to determine the cause of the accident, but have ruled out alcohol and speed as factors.
Dustin was a junior at TJ High where he was a member of the National Honor Society and treasurer of his class. He was also quarterback of the football team, active in lacrosse and coached young people through the Frederick Spires indoor lacrosse league.
