Suspensions should equal or exceed those given to the players involved in the Pistons Pacers brawl. Carmelo should be gone for the season, but David Stern is not man enough to do it. Stern is a major problem in the NBA, and he needs to resign.

Keep thinking that Isiah "I killed the CBA/ the Raptors/ the Pacers/the Knicks" Thomas is a genius.

not that i am an advocate of fighting, but why would you toss Carmelo for the season? He didn't go into the stands and didn't fight fans. I might be wrong, but I think that is what did it for Artest.

Are you insane? Stern is the best commissioner hands down. He is fair and he doles out suspensions that fit the crime.

My favorite part of the whole thing was Carmelo throwing a punch and then running backwards as fast as he could while Jared Jeffries chased after him.

Isiah should be kicked out of the league for basically instructing his team to commit a hard foul late in the game. It's his fault his team sucks and he was embarrassed that they were getting shown up in the Garden. So he tells Melo that he better not go to the basket. Meanwhile, the Knicks are throwing up garbage that is leading to easy breaks for a running basketball team the other way. Nate Robinson is a thug and a punk - and a no talent, me-first guard who can't make shots anyway. Whoever 25 is deserved to get popped for mouthing off during the whole thing (and was a wimp for going down in the first place). Wish Kenyon could have been there with his entourage to stab someone in the ribs. Still stupid for Melo to do it, but Isiah has single-handedly ruined basketball in New York.

I blame the players for being allowed to wear head bands (previously), high socks, tatoos and other things that cause fights. Perhaps if we outlaw everything...and only allow the players to wear size small shorts and size medium tanks, there will be no more shenanigans.

I noticed that too. All I could think was what a...cat....

Also, Nate Robinson looked like he was part of the lollipop guild when he was giving his post game interview.

Yahoo! News' headline announces:

"Nuggets' Anthony suspended for 15 games."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061218/ap_on_sp_bk_ne/bkn_nuggets_knicks_brawl

Carmelo Anthony was supseneded for 15 games and 6 other players were penalized announced by David Stern.

Each organization was fined $500,000. There was no separate penalty for Knicks coach Isaiah Thomas. Nate Robinson and J.R. Smith each got 10 games, and four other players also were suspended. Mardy Collins, whose hard foul on Smith sparked the fighting, was suspended 6 games.
