impact players
we had a thread about this last season and it was interesting to hear what people had to say. Division A, Division B... it doesnt matter. take your pick or talk about whatever teams and players you know about.

I will try to list one player from each team that I know:
Illinois - Sutherland although Kohl and Copher have been good this year
ISU - Tim Wagner
Iowa - James Soljacich
SMS - Beckner..........since he posts on here, I will boost his ego a little.
Wash U - Eberlein
Mizzou - Brad Brown
I don't know enough about SLU, KU or KSU to comment and there will be about 2 to 3 more Lindenwood posts so I will leave them alone.

Come on....you could have at least said your reasoning was cause of how I did in the B division last year. Oh well, I guess I'll still accept it.

I'll toss some out for Div B, at least the ones I have seen so far or know about. Kinda hard since not many teams have played that many games.
Felgendreher - Rhodes
Snow - Creighton
Metcaife - Creighton
Poplin - Rose Hulman
Kurtz - USD
Might as well add Beckner, just to keep boosting his ever growing ego
Just the ones that I can think of off hand.

harding's tomasonni (attack #17) is a stud. he had 5 goals and an assist against us.
i had an opportunity to watch the south dakota - nebraska game last weekend and agree that the nebraska goalie played very well. although, he was tested more than the usd keeper.

GRLC Defenseive MVP - Jennings (Lindenwood)
GRLC Offenseive MVP - Kelam (Lindenwood)
Illinois had a couple good players. Harding had one. No one else in the GRLC can hang. Beckner didt you last year say SMS was going to be in the top 25 in A div? I havnt seen them all play yet but maybe these other guys are good too. The grlc site dosnt do it right though it says goals total and not goals per game. So M Wolf and B Brown from Mizzou may look like leading scorers in the league but they arent because it was in 7 games, not 5. If you go per game than they wouldnt be in it.

Mark Wolf is the youngest of the three Wolf brothers at Mizzou. All three are very solid players, but Mark is only a Freshman, and is definitely an impact player. He possibly could have contended for All-American in high school last year out of Parkway West, but he was injured all year. Don't get me wrong, the All-Americans from last year are all very good and deserving, but I think Mark would have had his name on the list of candidates. Brad Brown is a very good player as well, I believe he moved from attack to middie this year to utilize his speed and endurance.
I do think Lindenwood has a new long list of impact players, mostly from CBC, and I can't pick one because I get confused when watching them. Sutherland has been very good for a long time now, going back to the Gus Garanchelek (sp?) days. Wash U. will have some solid players usually from the east coast as always, and I think Houston will have a big year.

Beckner didn't say that, it was an alum who hangs out of this board every now and then.
Haven't played any games yet so I haven't seen anyones all stars. As a matter of fact, I can't even say for my team b/c no games yet. Practice is one thing, games is another. Hopefully SMS has a solid team and not relying on one or two impact players. Although it never hurts to get one of those genuine talents.

Its about mid season and most teams are heavy into their schedules. Just thought I would list my All Conference Team from what I have seen, heard and discussed with other coaches around the league. Feel free to disagree and list your own. There is some bias toward the more southern teams, sorry but it happens.
Attack:
Tomassoni - Harding
Snow - Creighton
Schrieber - Rolla
Scovil - Rhodes
Midfield:
Felgendreher - Rhodes
Poplin - RHIT
Allen - Harding
Defense:
Metcalfe - Creighton
Kurtz - USD
Van Der Bill - Dordt
Goalie:
Callahan - Nebraska
Johnson - Harding
Specialist:
Haven't really seen one that really stood out yet.

I'm not stupid, I would never make a ludicrous prediction like that, being a new D-A team. The guy who said that didn't know anything about our team or the teams that we would face at the next level.
As far as impact players go, we've only played 2 conference games but there are still a few:
#5-Wagner- Illinois State
#9- Zivilick- Ill. State
#28-Justin Combs- Lindenwood
#27 Brian Nix- Lindenwood
Lindenwoods main face-off man (I'm sure someone will help me with a name on him)
Chris Johnson- SMS goalie...scores may not show it too well but he's kept us in every game so far.
